Previously I have been a big fan of The Sopranos but last night's season premiere on Channel 4 was disappointing. Not only had C4 messed up the ad breaks (the last one was 5 minutes before the end!) but the whole program "felt" different to me. It was more like a soap opera and I didn't feel as involved as before. Also, I hated the "next time on Sopranos" section at the end - far too corporate for my liking. It really annoys me how cult programs like this are suddenly made mainstream, and thereby lose all their originality.

Thank you to the mod who corrected the title of this thread and removed the rogue apostrophe. It's been bugging me for almost a week :)
Is anyone else watching the latest series. It has to be the best thing by far on TV at the moment. Its keeping me guessing at every scene. I didn't think Adriana was going to be whacked last night. It makes me glad that i'm not a gangster!

The Sopranos is superb.
What I don't understand is why C4 are putting it on in such an obscure slot (11.30 Monday nights). It's like they're trying to bury it rather than promote it as one of the jewels in their crown. Mystifying.
BBC2 did the same with Seinfeld several years ago too. You have to wonder what programme schedulers are on. :loopy:
I've been watching it on E4 so i'll be a week in front of you I think. You're in for a right treat next monday. I'll not give too much away but theres a gang war coming. Tony B has f***** up big time!

I'm annoyed that we are going to have to wait 2 years for the 6th and final season.
