Pretty! (http://www.woollyworkshop.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Mini_Mochi.html)
The colours remind me a bit of the Noro Kureyon sock yarn, but apparently it's softer. Not squidged any to check, but just ordered some in the Neptune Rainbow colour so I'll find out in a couple of weeks.
Damn you woman - thats rather nice looking yarn and I like lots of the colourways too! I would be interested to see how it compares to the Kureyon as although the colours are lovely it is rather scratchy

There's a thread on the 'Yarn' forum on Ravelry about it right now.
Essentially it seems to be very Noro-esque, but without the vege matter and with no (only a wee bit?) of the thick-thin problems. Some have said that it's very splitty, but then again you'd expect that with a single ply yarn of that sort. I think only one so far has raised the issue of knots in a skein; most others have said that they haven't yet come across that issue. All have agreed that it's very soft - so a big win over Noro there (This stuff is 80:20 superwash merino:nylon).
All subjective, of course. Looking forward to seeing it for myself. Woolly Workshop aren't shipping 'til at least the 12th of next month. Haven't looked for it elsewhere (I spotted it in the WW mailout).
From looking at the photos of others' stashes, it seems to have a significant absence of the muddy colours Noro inexplicably puts into their otherwise yummy colourways. We shall see...
Just looking at the Mochi yarn again, Violets Rainbow is very similar to the lovely Kureyon sock 188 colourway.

I'm more of a liquids only diet sort of girl. As long as that liquid is vodka or Jack Daniel's, obviously :hihi: .
A few thoughts on this yarn from Wendy Knits (http://wendyknits.net/archives/2951).
And from an earlier blog entry:
This is a very interesting yarn — it stripes like Noro but is softer, and when knitted up has a halo. It’s 80% wool and 20% nylon, but it’s hard to believe there’s that much nylon content in it. It’s a single ply that looks like an Icelandic Lopi — very “un-spun” in places, but I’ve found it to be quite strong. I guess that’s the nylon talking, eh?
Because of it’s single-ply-ness and un-spun-ness it takes a bit of getting used to, particularly if you are used to knitting socks from something with a firm twist. At first I had trouble splitting it, but as I knit, I became more accustomed to the yarn and am now working merrily along.
It's all out of stock at Woolly Workshop now. Pre-orders being taken for May!
Ooooh. It's Intense or Tapestry Rainbow for me! This can go on my list, so I won't be needing it any time soon :D
Mine arrived this morning. Verdict: it's soft and squishy. The colours are very rich and intense; the blues and greens are almost jewel-like. It has a subtle sheen and a slight halo; not alpaca hairy, and not fuzzy - something in between, and enough to make the yarn a little 'clingy'. It reminds me a little of a 4-ply version of Rowan Tapestry, so I'm certainly anticipating splittiness.
Haven't started knitting, or unwound the balls, so can't comment on the presence or absence of knots. There is a little variation in thickness, but no apparent slubiness from examining the top few yarn layers.
Impressed so far. Knitting it up might be a different story; splittiness and tiny needles don't make for happy knitting.
i knitted my mom some socks with Noro Kureyon sock yarn, it was lovely to knit with (as all noro yarns are) and she adores them. Im a fan
