I know I am a Blade but has any one seen Sky Sports News it has Brian Laws saying that the new chairman has doubled the average attendance from 16000 to 30000 that is a blatant lie, even the most ardent fan cannot believe the tosh that he has just spouted if that is true then our average attandence must be over 35000 and the ground dont even hold that many.

I thought only the fans had delusions of granduer obviously not

Brian Laws has lost the plot:loopy:

I would guess he has in a way but that's down to ticket offers since he took over as chairman.

Did you want Laws to count every single fan and work it out to the 'enth degree? Like this:

Brian Laws: "Our new chairman has increased the crowd by 46.0003218 %"

I think your nerves are kicking in. Relax, the derby's a mile away. ;)

How can he have double the average attendance in one game? (or is it two?)

They've had between 16-20,000 all season which, for the sake of argument, equates to an average of 18,000. Now, they got 25,000 on Boxing Day (was the new chairman in place then? I honestly don't know) and nearly 29,000 for one game (when they gave thousands of tickets away and it was quid a kid I do believe?). By my reckoning that makes a new average of 19,285. Not quite double 18,000........

To be honest mate who really cares how many are in the ground, the more who are there the longer it takes to get served for a beer, the more that travel the longer it take's to get parked or get a bus, did you know that Norwich have 25.000 season ticket holder's, do you know why?
Because there City aint divided into two footy teams meaning that they don't have the odd couple of thousand supporting the best playing team, well thats my theory lol.

Yeh you're right there. I do like to see a full ground but its a pain in the backside when you want to go to the toilet and/or get a pie at half time!!!

Spot on about the Norwich crowd aswell. Its exactly the same with L**ds. They go on about how bit they are cause they can get 30-40,000. Not hard is it when theres only one team in one of the biggest cities in the country? It wasn't that long ago when we were getting 50,000 between us so Leeds 30-40k is nothing in comparison!

To be honest fella it has got the making's of a real classic, both club's on edge with the situation's there in, injuries and lost players, it's what a Sheffield Derby should be like, where not world beaters either of our clubs just honest teams hoping for the big time to come around, where both capable but id settle for a Sheffield derby any day!

Its really hard at times living in Gleadless to try and differentiate between both of the club's, i had a guided tour of Bramall lane when i went to Arbourthorne school, and i enjoyed it, it was even before i even had any allegiences either.
I remember a fella saying to me why are those wooden boards there, there were 30 school children there and i shouted to stop the ball from going out lol.
My grandad brought me up and the first match he showed me was the title decider between Arsenal and Liverpool i cried that night at god knows what age, i was young, ever since then i got possesed by footy.
My grandad starting teaching me back heals on our 8 foot back, and after a bit i started doing it outside, that was it i wanted to go to the game, Wednesday v Arsenal was the game and if i remember rightly Arsenal scored an owl goal well early and thats how it finished Steve Bould i think.
Ive always had a mad feeling for both but im a true BLUE!
NOW THATS HONESTY LOL

Not quite double 18,000........

The 'thousands' that got in free were circa 750 in the Leppings Lane lower tier.

The 'quid a kid' was infact £5.00 along with OAP's, the rest paid £10.00.

The official up to date league home gate figure is 20273.

Any more outstanding facts? :loopy:
