anyone else getting lots of bit errors in s12 area? my freeview seems to be getting lots of intereference since about 2-3 weeks ago. Some channels, mainly the 5 ones, disappear altogether at night time. Aerial only been up 12-18months. Got 2 tv's off a mast head amp setup (think thats what it is), both get same troubles..... flicking lines, break up of picture, blips in sound, out of sync pic with voice etc, on all channels all times of day

have done a signal check on tvs, its v good at 80-85, but everytime there is some interefence the bit error meter jumps up to between 1 and 5 ?? i have tried plugging the amplified into a different mains socket, and running just 1 lead plugged in at a time, turning off other electrical devices, heating etc to no avail, i dont think its interference from inside, coud it be the cabling etc? anything else i can try before getting someone out to go up there? :help:

Could be water ingress at the mast, possibly?

Failing that I'd suggest you borrow an air rifle and shoot the birds that are roosting up there :)

dont usually see any birds on it. they prefer the warmer chiney pots :)

I live in S20, and get the very same problem. Have to re tune the tv every week or so to get 5, 4+1, E4 etc back. No idea why, started getting problem in last few weeks.

My daughter says she knows two ariels that got married- reckoned the wedding wasn't very good but the reception was brilliant......:huh:

well you have completely blinded me with techno stuff! but as a very simple person with simple tellys! i too am having loads of problems....i live just below the HUGE mask at the top of lydgate and in 40 yrs have never had the need for a "proper" ariel .. i just have those little ones that sit on or near the tv...in one room i have bt vision and that has been dreadfull as you say for 2 or 3 weeks, and in another room have a sky box but just get the free chanels and that too is playing up....i havent had any problems before ???

I've tried several Freeview boxes at 4 different addresses and this has happened to them all from time to time. Freeview seems to be an unreliable service.
