Come on Sheffield, who remembers their first time down town when they were younger. Ok we were too young for going into clubs but we still managed it didnt we.

My first club experience was going to Cairos. I was scared stiff, I was only 16 and quite shy. I remember getting my first proper snog on the dancefloor and by the end of the night I thought it was brilliant being able to go down town to the clubs.

The other ones we used to go to were Josephines where all the sleazey old men were hoping to cop off with all the young ones myself included (yuk). Also used to go in Berlins, ok this wasnt a club but it was also a good hang out. Then there was Millionaires, which was like a club but wasnt cos it closed at about 1am. Also The Roundhouse which was a good laugh, it was like going to the youth club going there, plastic cups and everything. Uropa was another place we used to go to, which is the only one still there now. There was also The Rhythm Room which was cool. And who remembers after going to the clubs then going onto Pepe's for a bag of chips or a pizza before getting your taxi home. Those were the good old days eh!

Although not that long ago, i used to go down to Pulse/Vogue next to the Arena and remember praying to get my hand wrote on with the security pen so i could get in Vogues. Never got into Club Wow though!

I also remember Berlins which was very popular back then and Millionaires which was kind of a pub/club.

Can remember being frequently dragged to a Club i never enjoyed but hey went with the flow. I think it was called 'Capital'. I think it's still there but as something else

I think i just missed out on the Roxys experience! (dont know if that's good or bad! :D )

I used to spend many happy nights in Turnups at the age of 16, i remember me and my mates hiding in the middle of a group of lads on the dance floor once when the police came in.
It was great fun, used to go in there till i was 18 then i started going to Roxy first time i went the bouncers wouldn't let me in cause i had got no id.

I remember getting called a c**t in Uropa and then after laughing it off the lad proceeded to headbut 9 different people before being thrown out. what a wonderful place that was:loopy:

I used to go to Rise at the Leadmill, which was a great night. Then, when that stopped, I went to The Arches at The Wicker for X-Static and Headcharge. Is The Arches still going? I used to love it and even met my wife there.

The Arches shut in Nov 2003, reopened briefly in 2004 and has been shut ever since - rumours abound about it reopening iin the autumn.. or maybe next year... who knows...

Anyway.. no club reminiss thread can be complete without mention of the Limit & its sticky carpets or Rebels and its mountain of stairs...

Arches will re-open later in the year.

Headcharge is still going, and there are a few nights that have popped up like Jackhammer (5hit-hot) and Aural Shock.

One of my better nights was around 7 years ago i think at the Replublic. It was a themed night on a Friday.

I cant recall if it was called Lovebug, but it was a 70's cheese and disco night with a stageshow of 70's afro & porn take offs (no porn though! :hihi: otherwise i would have remembered) introducing the music.

Does anyone else do something similar these days (god, i'm getting old!)

Thanks for the PM. I can't reply to it because apparently I haven't made enough posts on here yet! I'm only in Sheffield a few days every other week and never at weekends any more. Good to see there's still stuff going on though.

I also remember that Berlins used to do a thing where they got a girl up on the stage and then offered her drink to strip (or maybe they just did.) It used to be the youngest girls in there that ended up on the stage which was a bit worrying considering the age of the clientel
