That's ridiculous - they'll run out of material in no time...

Although to be fair, I think Roy Chubby Brown should be banned from those places anyway - cos he's unfunny.

I think Roy Chubby Brown is very funny....he's one of a dying breed as the younger comedians are politically correct !!!

This has been going on for years though with many Town Halls...as when I lived in Middlesbrough Chubby could never perform at the local Town Hall due to the style of his act!!

Call that 'support' from his hime town!!

He always performed in Newcastle or Blackpool.

I'm not a Chubby Brown fan, but I'm not a fan of the government telling me or others what is funny either! :|

Surely people know the vague content of these sorts of shows before they go and see them, and if they don't like what's being said they can get up and leave at any time?

aren't 90% of jokes about taking the pi$$ out of someone for something? like blondes? or fat people? gangstas? your momma? irish? welsh? scottish? americans?... jokes are always about insulting someone/thing or making fun at someone elses expense... thats why they're funny :?

Might as well ban humour from life. Let's all walk around without a smile on our face. Better delete all those jokes in my inbox, can't have anybody offended.

I dont see what harm it does to anyone..... everyones taste is different, if people want to see chubby let them, they are not forced to go are they? its their choice. Just because he uses foul mouth, does that make it wrong to see him? who has the right to tell us what we can see? If a pop/rock group came to the city hall would they get banned from using the f word in their songs???
:suspect:
I support sheff wed, i dont like the sheff utd...can i get them banned please??? same thing ........
humour is one of the best things in life.

Totally Agree.

I'm not a big fan of Chubby, but I'd never try and stop anybody going to see him. Likewise bands such as Linking Park, Korn, etc I can't stand, but I'd never want to begrudge anybody their pleasure of watching them.

Although maybe if we banned Charlotte Church?!

Ah the irony of 'a tabloid' (normally either the sun or mail) printing this story at least twice a year for the past 20 years never ceases to make me chortle.

It's political correctness gone mad I tells the!!!

There not allowed to call to call them blackboards any more, ya know.....blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

Did you hear about the gender-neutral, straight, able-bodied member of the ethnic majority who had no distinguishing features what-so-ever?

No?

Oh.

ROFLMAO... that's so damn funny, because it isn't... infact it's so not funny that my funnybone has dissapeared! we need more jokes like this and maybe soon we'll all become mindless robots with no emotions!

There is a comedian who does this, although his name escapes me right now. He tells standards such as:

There was a Jew, a Christian and a Muslim in a bar one night... they all had a right good time.

It's the anti-joke that works off what it distorts. Like:

"My wife has gone to the Caribbean."
"D'ye make 'er?"
"no... Antigua"

Boom boom, as the sailor said to his mate just before the accident.

To be honest, this is a little out of proportion isn't it? I mean - the council isn't banning these jokes, its just on council property, isn't it. Roy Chubby Brown can go play somewhere thats owned by someone else, can't he?

banning chubby is wrong hes been doing his type of comedy long before i can remember, he is being used as a scapegoat. why not pick on bernard manning he can be considered offensive and a. racist banning chubby is basicaly stopping his freedom of speech.

The irony is, ofcause, that once again, the government are saying 'Do as I say, not as I do'.

Therefore, when they get their way and ban comedy, the only comedians left standing will be themselves.

I reckon we should send Puncher Prescott a Roy Chubby Brown DVD for thingymas (25th December).

"Tonight Kat, I'm going to be....."

So 'banning Manning' would be acceptable, but banning Chubby wouldn't? Do I smell a double standard? :suspect:

Oh.

This just about somes the current situation up.

Just what must Charlie Williams be thinking (for those who remember the 70's).
