Help - have to fill out a Self Assessment online, but only need to do as I want to claim mileage allowance relief as i get less than 40p per mile. Have always previously done it on the P87 form.

Does anyone know where on the stupid online form I fill in the details - and what details I need to give? I have it worked out on paper - just need to find the right bit.

The tax office themselves aren't too helpful - have rung up a couple of times and I've been given differnet answers...one ended up with my owing tax!

Please help before I lose the will to live (and a chance to get some money back from the tax man!)

I was glued to my computer, monday and most of tuesday trying to sort it before the deadline

I filed my return online for the first time..Let me tell you I was in exactly the same boat,

i eventually had to goto the tax office in rotherham and sit and go through it with an advisor.... still i got confused, but got their in the end, came home did the return online.... got my cheque 2 weeks later, which suprised me

the moral of the story is your best bet is to book an appointement at tax office and go through it with them.I found em really helpfull HTH paul
