With the policing of the G8, a lot, seemingly 1000's, of police have been drafted in from other parts of the country. Where do they stay whilst here? Do they hire a hotel? I'me interested. Any one know?

Meant to put a question mark on that as I’m only guessing it’s Grantham.

Grantham was the birth place of Thatcher and the town played host to all the extra police drafted in to crush the miners. Don’t know if it was a coincidence.

or the large (now) Royal Logisitcs Corps ( ex RCT) base close to the A1

Most of County Durhams constabulary have been spending thier days in the coffee shop area of the office where my other half works.

They have been parked up on the back road into the car park and taking it in turns to leave the vans and come in to use the loo's and shops.

On Monday they were sent to a empty warehouse and spent the full day waiting in there with no loo's and no hot drinks.

Not sure where they go at night but it cant be too far away. maybe its the T/A barracks at Manor top or the one up Meadowhead??
