can anyone tell me what a rar flile is i downloaded some movies but this one is a rar file

any ideas:help:

rar is a type of compression.

use winrar to extract the file

rar files are crap..............quite alot you might download maybe password protected.for some reason............i prefer zip files :P

i found that out today but good for me this one came with the password

umm... zip files also can have a passwords... then again, if what your downloading is legit then the site will tell you the password and its all fine isnt it? ;)

any ideas:help: RAR is a higher compression format.

more efficient than ZIP.

Also, advantage of WinRAR, is that it opens both Zips and Rars... WinZIP only opens Zip...
