Anybody got any useful, bright ideas about where to go for a meal or if anything is happening in or around Sheffield? Teenagers in tow.

Please can the comedians restrain themselves from replies unless you're up to Jack Dee standard.

Fathers Day is just an over hyped way to part fools from their money.

I have told my kids not to bother with what is quite simply a marketing ploy dreamed up by the large card manufacturers

I'm sure we all long to be as "funny" as Mr Dee, allas his is a unique talent.

Why not go to the dog track in Hillsborough for the night, it's great fun ?

Well, my dad liked it, but he did win about £500 and we got totally p**sed and had to walk back into town.

I know its a bit far out, but if its your dad's kinda thing Brodsworth Hall in Doncaster has a vintage car show on sunday (only 45min drive I promise!) http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server/show/ConEvent.1001

I must admit my family also hates the hype of things dreamt up by card manufacturers, therefore we don't give them our money and create our own cards ;)

Even if its hyped up, its a good excuse for the whole family to go out and spend some time together doing something, wether it be a nice meal or a visit somewhere. Another vote for Brodsworth Hall, i went a year od 2 ago and it was a nice day out. Or how about something more adventurous, like a day at the ski slopes.
