Folks,

I'm 26 - I've lived in this city for almost four years now. Problem is 9 months ago I was rendered single. Second problem is I now only really know people who I work with - and given I'm a lawyer, thats pretty rubbish. The friends I have are top but would like to meet some non-legal people..

Anyone any ideas of the best things for a singleton llike moi to do to expand ones horizons in a non embarassing and light hearted stylee? Ideas thus far are learning a language, acting classes and salsa dancing.. given work, my time is pretty limited too. Meetin new people would be cool me thinks..

any help greatly appreciated

Michael

Are you after suggestions specific to Sheffield or just general ideas?

(I'm assuming you've considered & discounted the forum meets).

many of the forum members meet up socially....there is the Devonshire Cat every Sunday approx 8pm and Trippetts every Wednesday and also at the Wetherspoons Pub in Woodseats on a Friday night but the next one is not til the 24th that's aside other meetings forum members arrange between themselves....personally I would start with a Dev Cat meet on a Sunday....welcome to the forum...

Devonshire Cat meet - Sunday (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44641)

We often meet midweek at Trippets (occasionally elsewhere). Keep an eye out for threads here:

well as you're a young lad surely football is high on the agenda. Try and get yourself a half decent team and your weekends are sorted socially from then on!
