Just a heads up for anyone who is looking to get a DSLR.

Curry's are de-listing the Nikon D60 and you can pick-up the Nikon D60 18-55 VR Kit for £299 (+ £30 chequeback from Nikon), which as far as I know is pretty much the cheapest you can get one (even online).

I'm not 100% sure but i think someone linked it at closer to £250 at christmas. About a week after i had bought a new compact *doh!*

That's still a great price though.

Seems you are right shaker. It was the D40 we were talking about. I went back and found the thread.

Mr's Vidster wants the 450D. I wonder if i could talk her in to having a D60?

have you a link as I have had a good look and there's nothing listed for the D60 at that price...Maybe a D40 but i cant see them selling the D60 at that price

vidster - that sounds about right, the D60 replaces the D40X which is a D40 with a 10mp sensor. the D40 is the older consumer DSLR from nikon, but is quite a few years old now

if you can talk her round, i'd recommend it, i've only had mine a few days but i'm finding it to be a fantastic piece of kit so far

knighthawk - i couldn't find it on their website, they only have them instore. i guess they must be stopping stocking them as the website only lists the pro Nikon SLRs. i only found them on the off-chance as i work near-by but the curry's at the top of the moor has stock (or at least they did last friday when i went in). you could give them a phone-call to check first.
