excellent signing, what does this mean for franky simek, because hes an equally fantastic right back!?

buxton can play anywhere across the back four ,which is why he is a valuable signing

who gets dropped though, captain, excellent prospect beevers or tommy spurr who i think is very consistent as he more than showed against fulham, or simek who when at full fitness is a challenge for any winger and is also good at bombing it down the right wing linking up with JJ.

its nice to have that cover in a player who can replace any of them

got over his poor start very well. he can play anywhere along the back four so very useful but surely its a case of how is simek going to replace him. simek is an excellent rb but buxton is there on merit at the moment so until he makes a mistake or is injured, could be the bench for simek

he is going to takesome shifting on present form

I think this transfer maybe gives us a clue how Frankie's rehabilitation is going..... sadly not very well. I wonder if we will see him again this season? Fingers crossed.

Saying that, Buxton has been very steady and is a versatile addition to the squad and for what seems a very small fee. (I wonder if they'd finished paying for Whelan and we got Buxton for the rest?)

It could signal the end for Hinds though as he was our previous "versatile defender"

Hinds is out of contract in the summer i believe

He's a decent signing as he can play anyway across the back 4 or in midfield so his versatility will come in bloody handy considering our injury problems
Well done Laws:thumbsup:

or laws is thinking he might have to sell, maybe wood

its proved we were short of numbers at the back , Hinds injury left us wih only really 4 defenders

i hope woody doesnt go, been a favourite for many fans for a while but he may go, someone told me he didnt want a contract renewal a few weeks ago. Suppose steve watson could fill in as a defender for a short period of time but his role and experience is vital in midfield.

Watson aint got long left so that may well have come into laws thinking with signing Buxton

Simek is a long way off being fit, at least now with Buxton, we won't be rushing him back again, plus a little competition for places is always healthy.

Great signing imo.

its a good piece of thinking by laws-coveering a few positions

i think Gray may stay for rest of season as Esajas is out for another 6 weeks

Hope so, Gray plays like a man who has seen it all and done it all. Great quick feet..... good footballer.

Top signing, Lewis Buxton has done well, Stoke might have dropped a bollock selling him to be honest.

He had a poor game last night.

Age old story.
Players do Ok on loan, then we you sign them permanent, they don't perform to the same level :)
(I know, it's only one game)
