Hi, Pulling my frigging hair out here. I bought a set of Wii component cables a weeks ago and got a black screen after connecting them to the HDTV.

I wiggled the wire around and a green Wii screen popped on and off when i let go of the leads. Thinking 'Ahh it's the lead' i bought a 2nd set and it's doing the same trick. ( it's not the TV as the Xbox connects to component and it in full colour etc... )

I am thinking about getting some Genuine Wii component cables but don't want to spend £18 if i get same issue.

Does anyone else have/had the same issue as me and was fixed by genuine issue Wii cables ?

Our lass had the same problem. It was the fact that the plug that goes into the Wii needs a really good shove till it clicks in. That sorted it for us.

When you've managed to get it working, you can go into the Wii's menu and improve the picture (very slightly) by setting it to output to an HDTV. It still looks much crapper than an Xbox 360 or PS3 as whe Wii isn't high definition, but it's better.

Cheers, I had a right good play with it doing everything you can think of but still don't work.

I googled and was told just connect Green wire so i did, all i got was 'NO SIGNAL' wire flashing on and off at the bottom of the screen.

I pushed in the plug in the Wii like Space said, still after half a dozed good rams it still don't do anything.

I did find a few on google that did fix it by simply buying the Official Wii cable and plugging it in without the faffing about.

So i'm going the drop this one back in the post and put the refund towards one of them.

What a run around for one of these cables !!!!!

Every shop o went to inc. Online were sold out !!!! I went to HMV who had them in stock but they wanted £27.99, however HMV online they are £17.99 with free post:rant: No way was paying that in store.

I did eventually track one down for £16 from a Direct Sales place who sold blank DVD's and thing like that.

So as soon as it turns up i'll post the results
