nosy nellie 24-01-2009, 18:38 Watch out! I was in Hillsborough today and felt my bag being unzipped,I was in the middle of a few people but the closest were three women all dressed in black,I could not challenge anybody because not sure which one it was and it all happened so fast.It happened between travel shops and Subway.

you should have thumped all three, i'll bet two were covering for the dip!:D:D
john:D
I take it you have also reported this to the police
I don't know if anyone has ever done it, but one suggestion I read about was to get an old purse or wallet fill it with any rubbish you like and leave it on top of your shopping or in your pocket.
Chances are any thief will grab that and the rest of your belongings will be safe.

Anyone for a few fishing hooks left just sticking out of the top of your bag?
roughy101 26-01-2009, 10:20 some years ago my mom was on brighton pier and felt someone go in her pocket, she was smoking at the time so she stubbed her ciggy out on his hand, they were in a big family group and all the men chased after him as he was screaming down the pier:hihi::hihi:
Put a mouse trap in your bag, or better still a bear trap, that would be funny, just don't forget about it.
nosy nellie 26-01-2009, 14:55 I did not report it to the police because it happened so quickly there was not a lot I could have told them, because at the time after I had checked if anything was missing they had vanished.
The only thing I remember was one of them had covered my bag with a shawl which I dragged of to check the contents of my bag.
I thought the next best thing was to warn other people.
OK I will watch out. only while in Hillsborough though. Thanks for the warning.

Nellie told me of the incident but she left out the most important detail on her post because she did not want to be branded a racist by some of the moralising liberals found on this forum. She did not report the incident to the Police for the same reason. She left out the detail that the woman were dressed in black burqa/burkha style dress, and of Asian appearance. I myself am not bothered if I am condemned by these people, and before you start dipping your pens in vitreol let me tell you it'll be watter of a ducks back. I believe in telling the truth and I hope this post puts the public on it's guard.

That's because it makes no difference what they were dressed in or what nationality they were. Fact is you should be careful ALL THE TIME.
Of course you should be careful all the time, but there is nothing wrong in giving more detail about an incident that happened. If the possible suspects had been bikers in leathers and helmets, nuns, gents in pinstripe suits, clowns, or of any other description, would that have been wrong too? The fact the ladies wore burkhas should not have to have been suppressed by the op for fear of being called racist, and nor should anyone be accused of racism for mentioning it. The police would certainly have required a description if they'd been called.

You'd probably be arrested for hurting the pickpocket and breaching his/her human rights
