Hello all,
This thread is to let you know about DDSF at University of Sheffield.
Chaired by myself, the Students' with Disabilities Councillor, DDSF is a committee for disabled students and people who are interested in the field.
We discuss and act on issues that disabled students face at this university, with the aim to improve accessibility, awareness and more. Having these kinds of resources here can certainly help a student's university environment.
We often have members of staff attending our meetings from Union and University departments to ask for feedback on their service.
If you would like more information, please contact us at ddsf@sheffield.ac.uk
(As I haven't posted 5 items yet I cannot post a website link!)
I have been chair since 23rd October 2008, when I was elected by university students. I have a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome and am proud of my disability now, its about ensuring that those who have done well at getting to university are not left in the lurch and are not discriminated and Im keen to keep this attitude going throughout the whole university.
