how does it work? whenever i come back to the site everything seems to be jumbled up and in a different order to my last visit.
It's damn confusing. Other forums seem to working chronologically based on when the topic was raised. Wouldn't this make more sense?

It's based on when the topic was last replied to - the most recently replied to thread goes to the top. This is how just about every other forum I've seen works. Vanishing posts may happen if you post in the wrong forum and the topic is moved to the correct forum, or alternatively if a fight breaks out and the moderators need to pull the thread.
