I assume it's possible so I could really do with some advice as to where I'm going wrong...

I have a pc wireless connected to a netgear router, I have another pc set up right next door to it...this is where my problems start:

Because my ethernet lead doesn't reach the router I have run it from the ethernet ports in one pc to the other thinking that would be ok, I'd have connection on both systems...NOPE?

Can anyone advise me where I'm going wrong, mine has a connection but the other just shows 'limited or no connectivity' and I can't get it to do anything else with my limited knowledge of networking...very limited.

Please help.....

You would need to set up internet connection sharing on the machine which has the internet connection... You also need to make sure its a Cross over cable, and not just a normal patch cable.

Cheers Ghozer, I found the issue was that the ethernet card on this machine didn't have a driver (I have 2 so just thought I'd have a bash at plugging it into the other and it worked)...

So all good, no cos like an idiot I disabled ICS and when I realised that was something I needed it was too late...I tried to reinstate it and got this message:

'A lan connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing'

And I can't seem to reinstate it now, I just get that same message over and over..? Please help....
