Hi,

I'll try and explain :) ,

I've got Fibromyalgia (anyone wanting to know what it is see http://www.fibromyalgia-symptoms.org/fibromyalgia_syndrome.html )

Due to having an extremely low pain threshold, and very bad luck with past dentists who have at best been rude and dismissive, I am quite simply bricking it at the moment...

I've just broken 2/3rds of one of my back teeth, it doesn't hurt, oddly enough, but I know that if I don't get it seen to, it will just get worse.

I really need to get to see a dentist soon, I know this, but i'm really scared, if I can find one that will sedate me before going anywhere near my mouth, then that would be great, I feel so so stupid, i'm a confident, outgoing, usually pushing other people to go for it with things, n stuff, and here i'm sat nearly in tears thinking about this, it's awful.

I can get free dental treatment on the NHS, but i'm willing to pay (if I can afford it) if it means no pain ( and some understanding)

I've found a place in Leeds which specialises in helping people with Phobia's ( I don't really know if i'm phobic, is that just if your fear is not based on anything real?....my pain is very definately real lol ) but they don't have any prices on their website, i'm going to ring them tomorrow...I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere in Sheffield?

Sorry if i've rambled, but it's really hard for me to even think about this, I can't believe how scared I am :(

You could try the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital. I think they do sedation and they treat people who are not registered with a dentist.

Jon at Dore Dental Care is *very* understanding - I've had gas and air for the injection because I have a needle phobia.
