Cheers Lofty 18-01-2009, 17:48 Think you'll need to head more Fulwood way....unless you want a take away from Manzil... Sharp87 18-01-2009, 18:49 Walk up to Crookes and go to Indian Chef. verona 18-01-2009, 19:00 Best advise i can give is to stay away from Balti King in Broomhill.:gag: I would say get the bus or taxi to Ranmoor Tandoori (Only five mins away from Broomhill). Or like the last post said, Indian Chef in Crookes. Lofty 18-01-2009, 19:04 Walk up to Crookes and go to Indian Chef. Actually, this is a far better suggestion. skinner 19-01-2009, 09:57 Wouldnt recommend Ranmoor Tandoori , the curries are frankly rubbish , get yourself to new Rajput restaurant in Walkley/ commonside. http://jrcit.co.uk/Rajput/index.html rad 19-01-2009, 12:31 Balti King and Mazil are both rubbish, as is the Indian Chef. I think Rajput is your best bet, or going into town. LuckyR 19-01-2009, 12:50 Rajput in commonside, opposite the Springvale. Takeaway is the best in the area. Now they've opened a restraunt which is just as good theripsaw 19-01-2009, 12:57 Me an da ladz like balti king food wot is wrong with it we all pile in after a skinful and eat load and get discounts too u cant go wrong withbalti One reason why i wouldnt recommend it! Snakey_B 19-01-2009, 22:14 wheres the Rajput ? Also is indian chef BYOB ? Aint going into town ,as we fancy a quite few drinks after the meal but cheers for taking the time to reply. rad 20-01-2009, 00:08 Rajput is on Barber Rd/Commonside. Go to the bottom of School Road or Springvale (well not all the way to Upperthorpe, but to the first 'bottom' of Springvale) and it's there! big_g 20-01-2009, 12:06 wheres the Rajput ? Also is indian chef BYOB ? Aint going into town ,as we fancy a quite few drinks after the meal but cheers for taking the time to reply. Indian Chef certainly used to be BYOB - you used to be able to go in, order, go over the road for a quick pint, get another pint and take it back with you. Not sure if this is still the case. Greengeek 20-01-2009, 12:13 It is, we went in last week. Not sure about the big green light they have though, makes the food look funny. Snakey_B 21-01-2009, 17:30 Cheers for the replies , going for indian chef! Also i asked around ,balti king has got a very bad rep , one person i asked said it was "pure filth" ,his words not mine as ive never been........and never will! Lee 23-01-2009, 10:58 Jaflong is far better than Indian Chef, you have to go there in Crookes. Best curry place I've been to in Sheffield along with Butlers Balti House. verona 23-01-2009, 20:13 this guy is hilarious. although I suspect he is a middle class fine arts student is that buckfast in his avatar? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckfast_Tonic_Wine no-one south of the border drinks that! I urge you all to read his other posts He'll probably become a legend on here. I'm usless at spelling and had to almost teach myself as I got older, and I went to a good school. At least he's not affraid to try and he's entitled to his own opinion. Actually, a study was done about the English way of spelling words and poirivdng you hvae the frsit and lsat lteetr of ecah wrod in the croerct odrer the btis in beweten can be jbumled up and it wlil stlil mkae snese. Gud on yer lad. Sorry, a bit off topic. goldenfleece 26-01-2009, 14:15 Balti K...if it is so awful as people seem to suggest then how come they are still in business??? Restaurants that are truly 'awful' are usually quick to disappear, so it seems a lot of people do like BK, and they have been there now for, not sure exactly but its well over 15 years isn't it?? I don't go very often any more myself as taken more of a shine to Chinese Food recently, but the fact it still seems to be thriving business does suggest they have a good base of satisfied customers...... rad 26-01-2009, 19:04 It's cheap, with a wide menu and loads and loads of offers. It's not the worst curry I've had, but not the best, and the things I've heard about the hygeine scare me. |
