I would say get the bus or taxi to Ranmoor Tandoori (Only five mins away from Broomhill). Or like the last post said, Indian Chef in Crookes.:thumbsup:

Actually, this is a far better suggestion.

Wouldnt recommend Ranmoor Tandoori , the curries are frankly rubbish , get yourself to new Rajput restaurant in Walkley/ commonside.

Balti King and Mazil are both rubbish, as is the Indian Chef. I think Rajput is your best bet, or going into town.

Rajput in commonside, opposite the Springvale. Takeaway is the best in the area. Now they've opened a restraunt which is just as good

Rajput is on Barber Rd/Commonside. Go to the bottom of School Road or Springvale (well not all the way to Upperthorpe, but to the first 'bottom' of Springvale) and it's there!

Indian Chef certainly used to be BYOB - you used to be able to go in, order, go over the road for a quick pint, get another pint and take it back with you. Not sure if this is still the case.

It is, we went in last week.
Not sure about the big green light they have though, makes the food look funny.

Also i asked around ,balti king has got a very bad rep , one person i asked said it was "pure filth" ,his words not mine as ive never been........and never will!

Jaflong is far better than Indian Chef, you have to go there in Crookes. Best curry place I've been to in Sheffield along with Butlers Balti House.

He'll probably become a legend on here. I'm usless at spelling and had to almost teach myself as I got older, and I went to a good school. At least he's not affraid to try and he's entitled to his own opinion.

Balti K...if it is so awful as people seem to suggest then how come they are still in business??? Restaurants that are truly 'awful' are usually quick to disappear, so it seems a lot of people do like BK, and they have been there now for, not sure exactly but its well over 15 years isn't it??

I don't go very often any more myself as taken more of a shine to Chinese Food recently, but the fact it still seems to be thriving business does suggest they have a good base of satisfied customers......

It's cheap, with a wide menu and loads and loads of offers.

It's not the worst curry I've had, but not the best, and the things I've heard about the hygeine scare me.
