Does anybody know the name of any places where they teach you to become a driving instructor which also sponsor you if you cannot afford to pay for the course? My bloke would like some info on this. He would very much like to become an instructor but money is an issue and I think most places charge about £2,000 but I saw an ad in the paper once that said they sponsored the person. Any ideas?

Never heard of this Jillybabes. What you might be thinking about is that some places offer a guaranteed placement with a driving school once qualified.

All driving instructors are self-employed (yes, even the ones at BSM and the AA) and therefore have to pay for their training. If you can't afford to pay the lump sum up front, try looking for someone who will do it on a 'pay as you train' basis.

However for the record, the first part of the qualifying exams (theory/HPT test) your bloke should be able to do on his own. For the second part (driving test), any driving school should be able to help with this. However, for the 3rd part (ability to teach someone), this is a specialist area and you need someone who specialises inthis.

PM me if you want more details.
