Just wondering where everyone on here see's themselves in 5 years time.

I see myself married with children, in a bigger house, with a better job and a nice car (I want the Porche 4x4, NEVER going to have it though, or maybe the BMW X5!!!) . Hopefully I'll have more money as well ;-)

if you'd asked me that 5 years ago I would've come up with the right answer....

Seriously...with a bit more 'ME' time as my kids will be 7, 13, 15 instead of 2, 8 and 10!!

:hihi:

Being a heavy smoker, incorrigible scotch drinker, red-meat eating, chip loving veggie hater, and having spent most of my long life this way? I will probably be still sat at this computer, having the occasional rant at the state of the nation.:heyhey:

In 5 years - presuming my kids have flown the nest (and Sheffield if they have any sense) then I will have sold my house, gone off to travel around the world sleeping in anything from luxury hotels to a deckchair on the beach, meeting lots of interesting people, dicing with danger, riding motorbikes, playing the drums in a rock band and then end my days somewhere warm and sunny surrounded by various animal waifs and strays that I have adopted and hoards of chubby cheeked grandchildren...bliss!

PS - there must be a vineyard somewhere nearby too....

Msbehavin,
Ive done all of that, even driving a bike down a sand dune. Did it while I was young enough not to care about the future five years though - thats the living dangerous bit. Now that I've got my Bus Pass????

In those days - - It was my job - well paid too, plus the travel, the hotels, the spice of life + extras.
I'm happy to be a bit of a stick-in-the-mud now. I'd rather think about those past years than five years from now.

Possibly looking younger due to extensive plastic surgery due to a huge win on the lottery.

My goodness Nick, what large ambitions!

On second thoughts, if you are happy now, why have ambitions other than to continue as you are?

Mmm - extensive plastic surgery. Have you looked at Michael Jackson lately? Proof of the adage that, when the gods wish to destroy us, they grant us our wishes.

I have 'till Feb 2006 to achieve it.

I'm working on it & I have a cunning plan - that's perfectly legal :D

Probably not in Sheffield I'm afraid - when I put down roots permanently I do want it to be a bit closer to home, say, Poulton-le-Fylde perhaps. I would also like to be married (to my long term girlfriend).

Lemme see, my daughters will be 9 and 14, I'll be running a very cool little design company in Sheffield, also an art gallery, I'll be living in the same place but have enough money to buy the 2 garages next door (though not quite enough money to buy a Koenigsegg (http://www.koenigsegg.com/) to put in it), I will have stuck some more windows in the roof of our house, hopefully added a balcony and perhaps a roof-garden, will have five very rewarding years of fostering under my belt, my allotment will look a lot neater than it does today, and I'll have a big smug grin on my face that says "I told you so!"

It may sound s***e and a bit of a cop out but having my own house, married to the short one, owning a cat and a dog and doing well at my job.

All sounds a bit twee but that's what I want and by crikey that's what'll happen.

In five years' time I should have finally finished my 1940's 'contemporary retro' bathroom. I also hope to have reached grade 8 on the pianoforte, installed a pond in my garden, cut my hours to three days a week, bought a Gretsch Tennessee Rose and er, found a girlfriend.

A couple of years ago i went on a work management/life skills/goal setting type seminar. (incedently it was paid for by the then boss, on a barge, and they put on a lovely spread for lunch) One of the "activities" we did during the day was with someone we didn't know:

"Imagine the barge has just hit a time bubble. It's now 2 years from where we were."

Close your eyes and imagine yourself in 2 years time. Where do you live? What are you doing? Who are your friends? What's important to you? etc. (lots of questions like that to get your mind going.)

Tell the SF about yourself - now, (no "i will be" or "i might") introduce yourself and describe your life - as it is NOW in 2007.

It's obviously a bit strange to start with but it really is good, and a bit of fun as well. To see it as "now" makes it seem more possible than in x amount of years.

2 years ago when i first did this, (in 2003) i said in 2005: i'm (not i will be, but i AM) working with the same people but on a different project, i drive a new car, Focus, Golf, sort of size, i've just got back from visiting my friend and his kid who moved away in 2003, and i'm on my way to a black belt in a martial art.

Now most of it has happened, I started my own business and work with 2/3 of my old team and looking at other business ventures with the other 1/3. Just bought a Nissan Almera (After the sad departure of my trusty Astra, Marilyn) My time with best bud Tom with his little princess/monster will never be the same as when we lived together but i try, and my black belt status, well i'm edging my way there. Started a new (to me) style of Aikido, which complements my other martial arts and am working towards a black belt in others.

To summerise: It's 2007, what you doing, NOW?

Oh yeah, hopefully there'll be a very nice, loving Mr Caprice on the scene... I'll be looking to buy my own home and taking holidays in weird and wonderful places :D

Before that, I intend to have worked abroad for a short period of time, to experience living/working with other cultures and whatnot... To have visited a few more countries on my holidays :) and to have found Mr Right :D

In 5 years? Hmm, I could probably see myself living in some semi-decent flat in Hillsborough, still posting on here with the aid of at least a 1 Mb connection as I'll be living considerably closer to the BB exchange at Wadsley Bridge, work wise I see myself becoming PA to the MD of the UK branch of Microsoft, or even Bill Gates himself (OK maybe that bit's a tad over-ambitious but meh, I can dream can't I?)...

As for living arrangements, I plan on eventually moving to a place of my own, preferably in the North Sheff/S6 area, after all I was 30 last Friday and I'm still living with my Parents, not that I have a problem with that, it's just that society thinks I should be fending for myself at my age, sod society! WTF do they know?! :loopy:

In 5 years time, I would have moved from Canada to the UK, and probably ready to move onto my next destination. We are planning to live and settle down somewhere warm (the debate is exactly where). I would like Spain or Italy, he would like Florida or Texas....but I would settle for New Mexico or Arizona.

Its amazing what can happen in the blink of an eye so to speak so five years hence is a very long time in the prediction stakes.

I see myself retired for the most part playing a small role in the management of my company to keep it on track from time to time, and making a large nuisance of myself to some councilors who I intend to bankrupt.

Everyone needs a hobby or you just vegetate, mines being vindictive, LOL, so some peoples future won't be what they planned or would reply too at the moment if asked.

As I said, five years is a long time.

Think that i would like a bigger house and a new baby discodown - as long as it is less trouble than the 2 men are now!
Ideally DD would have a better paid job so i don't have to work and i could be a lady of leisure (as much as you could with kids!)
I'm actually fairly happy with my lot so even if things are all the same i wouldn't mind. I would like to be married though -- HINT HINT!!! (he'll never take it:hihi::hihi:)
