Hi everyone,

Happy New Year !!! (1st time on since December!!)

Something is REALLY beginning to bug me now... the Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor “Quasi una fantasia”, Op. 27, No. 2”, by L Beethoven, more populary known as the “Moonlight Sonata” and I love it BUT I can't for the life of me remember what film I have heard it in.

I was trying to tell someone what film it was and I can remember that its a sad film but thats all I can remember. I have google'd until my fingers hurt so I was hoping that SF (the fountain of all knowledge) might be able to help!!! You haven't let me down yet :hihi:

Thank youuuuuu!!!

I love moonlight sonata. I play it in my classroom all the time to calm the children down and it works!

Film... no idea but it was used on a Gameboy game called Dr Franken that used to drive me mad!

It's a very popular and royalty free piece of music that is used in lots of films.

A quick search on imdb (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002727/) returns hundreds of results for films using Beethoven's music. If you Ctrl F through that lot for 'moonlight' you might find the one you have in mind.

Immortal Beloved. Film about Beethoven.

The Widow Maker.

Could it be either of these?

I'm sure its in one war film where a character is mowing down the enemy before getting killed himself.

Best use of it in Misery when Kathy Bates hobbles James Caan with the huge sledgehammer.

 Immortal Beloved is set in 18th century Germany K19 on a nuclear submarine I'm finding it hard to understand how anybody could have difficulty telling the two films apart.

What are the first three things (nouns) that you picture in your mind when you hear the music?

Could it be the wartime based film 'Dangerous Moonlight'?
