AJ sheffield 14-06-2005, 16:09 Lime flavour...its awesome. Only had it once when I was a chabbie, never seen it on sale anywhere since though.
DaBouncer 14-06-2005, 16:11 Currently its "A Piece of Cake" by Ben & Jerry's (Strawberry Cheesecake).

I tried a tub of that the other day, had to say didn't enjoy it too much!
KookyKoo 14-06-2005, 16:15 either Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough, or Carte D'Or Toblerone- they are both pretty awesome. When I was a child, my parents took us to visit the Ben and Jerry's factory when we were on holiday in Vermont!!! My love for them has grown ever since
redrobbo 14-06-2005, 16:16 Honey ice cream from the honey ice cream factory at Towyn, Southern Snowdonia. Various dips and nice things to stick on the ice cream.
You then have to try the flavour of the day. My favourite is hazel. But I also like the banana, strawberry and especially the apple pie flavour! So, we usually make repeat visits whilst on holiday - so we can try them all!
They're fantastic!
at this present moment in time its magnum white chocolate
I'll second the vote for Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream   I like mint choc chip too ;)
I could really do with some ice cream at the minute - I've come down with a 'orrible cold and my throat is really sore :(
AJ sheffield 14-06-2005, 16:33 I can remember when there was only about 5 flavours in existence in this country. That was before we were invaded by trendy multi flavoured psuedo cosmopolitan left wing pretentious yankee imports. Mind you they do sound nice ;)
LordSnooty 14-06-2005, 16:42 Left wing ice-cream? That'll be Neopolitbureau.
Lavazza from Carte D'or - its really tasty and refreshing, just dont eat the whole pot though like I did the other day :P
nuf_said 14-06-2005, 17:15 A grande gelati (big ice cream) in a tall glass with loads of flavours and bits - sat in a restaurant at the side of Lake Garda in Italy. The setting and the flavour hmmm - hard to know which is more memorable.
Fishpole 14-06-2005, 19:11 It's a crying shame that Joe's Ices at Beighton is little known in Sheffield because their dairy flavour is to die for!
Exit left and heading for the freezer!

Exit left and heading for the freezer! Garlic ice-cream keeps the vampires and dopple gangers away!
Haagen Daz Cookies and Cream, followed by their Vanilla flavour. I can't abide Ben and Jerry's ice cream, or Carte D'or.

Perhaps it's a secret best kept to ourselves Owdlad? All the more for me and thee!
Tulip, chapattis and Joe's might work though!
chocotiger 14-06-2005, 22:44 Rum & raisen is my favourite
Lemon ice cream is my favourite but you do not see much of it about.
I've bought it in Benidorm in Spain and on the island of Alonisoss in Greece.
I've never seen it in other countries only Lemon sorbet which is not the same.
Jf anyone knows where I can buy it in the UK or even can give me a recipe I'd really appreciate it.
Happy Days!

Tulip, chapattis and Joe's might work though! Thats very selfish of you. I will slap a chapatti in the frying pan for you - yorkshire pudding california style is a good flavour. I think it was a limited edition though, I only ever got to try it once and never saw it again.
nobikejohn 15-06-2005, 07:39 There are too many great flavours to mention such as:
mint choc chip
dark chocalate
coconut
strawberry
clotted cream
vanilla
lemon
mango
they're all my favorites as long as their made the traditional way rather than the mass produced crap like Walls or Lyons:D
Cookie Dough Dynamo by Hagen Daas, or the Ben and Jerry's equivalent.
Love Thornton's Ice creams too!
the best ever! think about it

Ref: Bragazzis
I have to say I agree...the best Ice Cream I have ever had was at Bragazzis Deli in Sheffield, Abbeydale Road I beleive. I think he imports its direct from a famous small company in Italy. Bragazzis Family secret kind of thing! ;) Real nice Deli and lovely owner Matteo Bragazzis
Don't quote me on this but I hear they are going to sell Ice Cream through there website direct to consumers... www.bragazzis.com so look out for it! I am going to buy in bulk! :0

sugarnspice 22-03-2006, 13:57  Mint Chocolate
banesmabes 22-03-2006, 14:04 Ben & Jerry's Dublin Mudslide is to die for....
I like their cookie dough/chocolate brownie one mixed together (strangely I could take or leave them individually).
B&J used to do a cinamon flavoured ice cream with oatmeal cookie dough - that was the nicest ice cream I've EVER tasted, but they've discontinued it for some reason. :( However it does say on their website that they sometimes just 'rest' them for a bit and then start selling them again, so hopefully this one will come back.
Jimbob1989 22-03-2006, 15:11 Carte D'or Cherry :D
ferrero roche ice cream....unbelievable!
Ninjamagic 22-03-2006, 19:08 Choc chip haagen daaz

cheekyone 22-03-2006, 19:16 my favourite is coffee ice cream  but can't find it very often anymore:sad:
carcrash 22-03-2006, 19:30 Bragazzis is about 2 minutes walk away from where I live and one of the reasons I've put on so much weight recently.
Pistachio
Ms Macbeth 22-03-2006, 19:48 my favourite is coffee ice cream  but can't find it very often anymore:sad:
Me too! Had some fab coffee ice cream in Italy, but its a bit far to go! Had some gorgeous pineapple ice cream there too.
Also love Haagen Daaz Pralines & Cream, and Thorntons Toffee Ice Cream.
banesmabes 23-03-2006, 07:48 There's a very poor range of ice cream flavours available in Britain all round. You can get about 50 different variations of vanilla and then not much else. Certainly if you want anything slightly different you have to go for the luxury end of the market, but even then there isn't too much variety. And why are there so few ice cream parlours in Britain? I remember going to one in Germany where they did the most amazing things with ice cream (like you could get it shaped like a lasagne or spag bol!), and it was always full.
nuf_said 23-03-2006, 17:50 Just had 'Earl Grey' flavour ice cream for 'afters' at a restaurant in Sheffield centre. V nice. Apparently they made it on the premises.
EdnaKrabappe 23-03-2006, 19:21 Phish food Ben and Jerrys or Cherry Garcia.
Infact any Ben and Jerrys...
bjshooter 23-03-2006, 19:24 Really like mint ones, but I pretty much like any flavour from basket robins.;) :P yummy
Use to be maple walnut but whatever now, is got to be sugarless ah the joys of old age.
Not that I can have as much I like but my fave flavour is mint
discovery 21-07-2006, 13:06 Do any of you know where I can buy coffee ice cream please in Sheffield?
Harleykim 21-07-2006, 13:15  Ben and Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew!!!
Green and Blacks Chocolate (though oddly, their vanilla is, to my taste, revolting) or Bradwell's Raspberry Ripple. Mmmmmmmm.

simondjuk 21-07-2006, 13:29  mint choc chip everytime

NEKRO138 21-07-2006, 14:30 Fish food! Fish food!
Walnut or any other nutty flavour ice cream. :D
CaptainSwing 21-07-2006, 15:07 Purbeck Ice Cream's root ginger flavour
Ice cream is one thing we do very well in England - better than the Italian version IMO.
Ben & Jerry used to do a caramel and maple icecream called 'The Full Vermonty' which was sublime.
I don't really have a favourite now. As long as it's good quality and preferably chocolate, I'm happy.

If I may just say...What??!!
Its gotta be something from the Ben & Jerrys range:
Either cookie dough, phish food, or the one thats a mix of choc brownie + cookie dough!
emma2686 21-07-2006, 21:08 i love strawberry cheesecake (haagen Dazs) but i went on holiday to canada and america last year and got hooked on maple and pecan
Neopolitan does it for me (mix of vanilla, choc and strawberry) every time... Lovely stuff.
That and plain chocolate, got some lovely chocolate ice cream last week from Lidl.
PrincessEmma 21-07-2006, 21:33 Häagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheese Cake ice cream............ooooooooooohhhhhh my favourite, spread it all over me!!!
sparklesista 21-07-2006, 21:36 Gotta be chocolate, it's an old all time favourite classic. I also adore mint choc chip and toffee. Mmmm. If it's not any of those flavours then I simply won't eat ice cream as I'm not a big fan of it to be honest :)
Right now its Ben & Jerry's Apple Pie ice cream - proper ice cream, vanialla flavour with apple and pie crust. Droooool.........
Also, B&J's Cherry Garcia, Phish Food, Dublin Mudslide, Peace of cake.
And Cream o Galloway Whisky, Honey & Oatmeal. Beacon Farm Raspberry Cheesecake flavour. Crunchie exploding chocolate lollies.
I'm ice cream obsessed, me. ;)
