Wouldn't that depend on what car they owned? If it's a old scabby thing I bet they wouldn't be bothered. Give them a nice sports and they'd guard it with their life!

Anyway, what about the other way around? You have to be very priviledged to drive my car :D

My sympathies...I would never learn anyone to drive ever again, whilst learning my mate I nearly had a heart attack, whilst she was screaming with her hands over her eyes, I was knocking car out of gear whilst trying to slow it down by using the handbrake :hihi:

I drive my fella's car sometimes, I'm trustworthy, I suppose it all goes on how well the woman drives

the thing i have noticed is how many drivers break the speed limit and how angry they become when behind a learner in a 30mph zone.they flash there lights overtake and pull in slow down just to prove some sort of power thing.
the police incident was funny it made the wpc laugh

years ago my driving instructor ( a man) told me that the womens brain cant cope with the logic of reversing, and parallel parking. Failed my test with him. Then i passed with a female instructor... we just need to be taught in our own language chaps !! and you'll never understand women .. right ?:hihi::hihi:

i got to admit, im very curtious when im behind a learner. infact i think i go back to my own learner days has i find my hands possitioned right on the wheel, i over do the mirror thing and my feet dont hover over the foot pedals

she has lessons as well with a female instructor as well,it makes you think about your own driving when you teach somebody else and make them stick to the speed limits hands on the steering wheel ect.

To top it all, the mother in law was a driving instructor and also a driving instructor instructor. She was back seat driving me one day as we were on our way to the coast. We lived at Moorgate, Rotherham at the time and we had only got as far as the lights where Relost got her points the other week when she pointed out the lights were about to change, because she had this feeling in her water etc,etc and there was a red light camera etc, etc. By then I'd had enough, and after checking in my mirror that there was no-one up my ar** , I floored the brakes.

She still nags me about the neck injury! :hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:

I would only let somebody drive my car if I was reasonably confident they wouldn't wrap it round a lamp post, but it wouldn't matter what gender they were. I've never been in a relationship with the type of bloke who wouldn't let "the missus" drive, and not sure how I'd have taken it if one of my ex's had been like that. Although if any of my ex's had been like that I'd probably just have had the same rule about them driving my car and left it at that.

The only car my other half drives is our daily driver VW Golf but that's because she's a learner. Myself, I started out my driving career in a 998cc Mini (must get another old Mini, sometime :) ), moved onto a 'hot hatch' when I felt ready and then sports cars within a couple of years.

I still have a few older cars I've acquired over the years, mostly slightly uncommon stuff and when she has a bit of experience behind her she'll be out in any and all of them, insurance permitting. I wouldn't see the point in being the only one to drive them when there's two of us here.

I drive his 4x4 and he drives my baby merc. Problems? None whatsoever but thats what happens when you are confident and capable drivers. It's only a car after all and we both have those bits of paper/plastic which state we are legally able to do so. Crikey, if you get so hung up about somebody else driving your particular bit of metal then you need therapy!

Tried teaching my missus how to drive, was the most nerve racking experience of my life !! Insisted that she take proper driving lessons in the end !

things you should never do with the missus include

1) decorating together
2) Driving lessons
3) Giving advice to 3rd parties !!

My OH doesn't get any choice in the matter, he has to let me drive his car or he'd be on a bedroom ban :D
Seriously though, to us it makes more sense to let me have the car while he's at work rather than running 2 cars with twice the expense. God help me though if I ever pranged his precious car, he'd never forgive me :hihi:
