Who's been and will tell me what it's like?

The times I've been past it looks like it might be mainly for Kurds only.

No idea but keep looking et the menu as we walk by and are going to use it next friday as we live close by and are skint. menu looks good.

Cheap and cheerful - a few months ago when we went, but the food was wholesome and plentiful. No alcohol, but they do have Russian t.v. :)

been there quite a few times good food at a reasonable price have you tried the bohemian on chesterfield road its a vegetarian restaurant but we also do fish try it out it got a 5 star review by martin dawes about three months ago the no is 01142557797 hope to see you down there.

they have some veggie dishes but mainly meat

These guys are great.
Very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Tell Mehdi the manager "choni bashi" and he'll love you (means "hi how are you" in Kurdish).

I helped write their menu so here it is:

STARTERS

1] Vegetable Samosa
Two generous sized filo pastry cases filled with potatoes, peas and carrots in a gentle spice

2] Falafel
A Middle Eastern speciality -lightly spiced, ground chickpeas

3] Humus
Blend of chick peas and tahina (crushed sesame seeds) gently seasoned with garlic, lemon juice and olive oil

4] Kuba
Two delicious pan-fried balls of rice filled with seasoned minced lamb, raisins and almonds

5] Hot jigar
Two delicious skewers of marinated then chargrilled tender Lamb's liver

6] Chargrilled Chicken Wings
4 wings marinated in lemon juice, garlic and gentle spices then cooked over hot coals

7] Mixed salad

MAIN COURSES

8] Lamb Qoze
Braised shank of gently spiced Lamb on a bed of pilau rice

9] Chicken Qoze
Braised pieces of Chicken deliciously flavoured on a bed of pilau rice

(Both served with okra, bean or mixed vegetable soup)

10] Rice & Soup

11] Tashrib
Braised Lamb on the bone combined with okra soup and fresh cut naan

Kebabs (all come with side salad)

Four quality minced Lamb kebabs lightly seasoned and chargrilled

Four skewers of tender chicken breast, marinated and chargrilled

24] Vegetarian Grill
A selection of mushrooms, sweet green bell-peppers, tomatoes, aubergines and onions, chargrilled and then lightly pan-fried in garlic and olive oil

25] King Prawn Tandoori
4 succulent King Prawns cooked in our clay oven (tandoor) with a delicious sauce of yoghurt, tomato and gentle spices

26] Codfish Tandoori
Tender fillet of cod cooked in our tandoor oven with tahina, lemon, garlic and coriander. Served with chips or rice

27] Masey - Kurdish Fish
Pan-fried and seasoned with salt and sumac

28] Dolma
A Kurdish speciality consisting of a selection of vine leaves, aubergines, tomatoes, bellpeppers and onions stuffed with a delicious mix of rice and kofte (mincemeat) blended with subtle spices

29] Chicken Biryani
Delicious pieces of chicken in rice. Milder than its Indian counterpart

30] Lamb Biryani
Tender chunks of lamb in rice. Milder than its Indian counterpart

31] Vegetable Bhuna
An Indian standard with a Kurdish twist

32] Bhindi bhuna
Okra (ladies fingers) in a Kurdish-style gentle curry with onions, tomatoes and coriander
