probably B+Q or somewhere similar

I think focus DIY(used to be great great great amazing mills) does gardeny things

for fertiliser you should always go for john innes number 1!

look up carryliam, its on the wicker, think its about £25 a tonne. is very sandy soil but cheap and is fine to add to garden borders.

Try the admag on a saturday - they usually have people advertising topsoil free to anyone who will take it away. Alternatively, look under turf and soil supplied in the yellow pages, who list a few companies. I know someone who got a tonne delivered from a place in attercliffe - dont know how much it cost though.
