Why is straw unsuitable for rats? thanks

i think its got somthing to do with the sharpe edges in straw that could damage there eyes maybe?

It's long, pointy and sharp and has potential to cause injury to eyes or mouth when ratty is foraging. But it can also irritate the sinuses
