:p or is it just me and emo children with there 50 year old mums and dads, as normal, they should ban old people and kids from gigs.

I'm going. I'm not emo, a kid or 50.
I'm takin the other half tho. She can act like a spoilt five year old, like a pensioner when I p*ss her off, and is as miserable as an emo at times. So that probably evens it up

I wouldn't class Staind as emo....they're just miserable which is a bit different!

cheesemaster

didnt say they was emo, just all the ppl who turn up to watch the gigs i go to are emo kids, and there moms and dads.

I couldnt comment on Alter Bridge as iv never heard them before. They dont turn up at the ones i goto (i think) im normally having too much of a good time to notice who is around me. Except from when i saw My Chemical Romance at Leeds fest once... i didnt want to see them Alkaline Trio and Turbonegro were on after them and there were loads of little people watching them

Hmmm...I'm 49 and will be at that gig. I'm there for the special guests Seether, not Staind in particular.

So, Cheesemaster.... does that mean when I hit 50 I'll have to take up knitting or gardening instead of going to rock gigs?? :suspect:

I'd better tell my husband to stay at home...he's 52!

cheesemaster
17-01-2009, 16:05
shouldnt you be staying home listning to clif richards? :0 ok i'll say it again as i mean it, ban stupid kids who have to fetch there mums and dads, the mums and dads who have no clue who the singers are, the ones who stare blankly at the crowd rather than gig, the ones who complain that people are pushing into them, and that they are getting squashed to the security, wasting tickets somebody else may have needed, i was amazed when i saw her complaining, thinking to myself what did she expect, a whole section just for her to stand in cuz she complained lol, it wasnt you was it?

Bramwen7

Ye gods...Cliff Richard?? :gag: I'd rather stick needles in my eyes!!

Nah, I'm one of the cool parents  that likes most of the same music as my teenage metal-head sons!!
We go to a lot of the same gigs as a family. I draw the line at moshing though, you'll not see me in the pits. :hihi:

You do see a lot of people that make you wonder why they bothered coming though.... but not just us old farts..;)

So...do you like Seether, Cheese??

Not a bit constipated, I promise..:hihi:

I've got last 2 Seether albums, bought just cos of this gig incidentally, and they aren't too bad.
I'm quite looking forward to the gig, but the lad I normally go to gigs with said "if I want to listen to 2 hours of bloody boring ballads, I'll buy a Maria McKee record". He's not keen on Staind ;)

As to who to ban from gigs...teenagers with backpacks. Notice it more at the Leadmill than anywhere else. You're at a gig, not camping. Why does anyone need to take one.

GothBarbie

I'm going and am most certainly not old or emo nor do I wear ridiculous backpacks ;-)

Seether and Staind are both my favourite bands in the world! I've seen them both before and they are amazing performers! I haven't gotten my ticket yet as I had to wait for my student loan to come in as I am a seriously skint student but will be popping to the academy tomorrow to get one. I am so excited, although I am going on my own as all my friends have seriously bad taste in music and don't like either of the bands but I will happily be drunk and singing away so hopefully won't feel like a loner too much!

I've never been to the venue to see a gig before, are the stalls-standing tickets just like normal standing tickets?? Can you get close up to the stage??

Thankyou :) I just wondered as I once went to a gig where the floor area was seperated into different areas and I thought I had a normal standing ticket where you could go anywhere on the floor area but ended up being stuck in some raised section at the back

you arnt a emo, your a goth, so much unlike each other lol, i had a spare ticket, managed to find a replacement gig buddy, i always end up going alone, and selling my spare ticket at a third of the price.

cheesemaster

nah que early get a better view, que late you will be at the back.

GothBarbie
19-01-2009, 20:27
I'm definitely nothing like an emo - I don't have a ridiculous fringe and actually smile sometimes :-P

Wish I could find a replacement gig buddy, mine let me down last week and I haven't been able to persuade anyone else to come with me, I've never been to a gig on my own but I wasn't gonna miss this for the world!

i bought my mate ticket to see goo goo dolls with me, just so i didnt go alone, and bought him support acts album, and got taxi home, he didnt enjoy the goo goo dolls, waste of money, did same for alter bridge gig, bought a spare ticket, got let down by 3 people, ended up going alone, bought a spare for staind got let down again, think i'm going to stop buying spares now, and go alone, much cheaper, but yet i been asked to go to james morrison gig and i will go lol, my mates suck.

are you one of them weird goths with piercings evrywhere? and say you live in a invisable protective bubble, where no harm can come to them? lol they make me laugh, so at what age do you intend on growing out on the goth phase? :p

GothBarbie
19-01-2009, 22:28
I'm normally the one who gets dragged along to gigs with friends when they have no-one to go with, I once suffered seeing Reel Big Fish and I'm seeing Mindless Self Indulgence (who I despise) next weekend yet they won't come to gigs that I want to go to! I think I need new friends!

No I'm afraid I'm not really a goth at all, one of my friends started calling me goth barbie a couple of years ago and the nickname kind of stuck due to my being blonde, tattooed, pierced and a liking for strange things and alternative music but I'm unfortunately missing the invisible protective bubble. I'm obviously not trying hard enough and am only half a goth :P maybe I'll grow out of it quicker due to my half gothness, but I'm 22 now and don't intend too anytime soon!

Really good gig. Seen Staind a couple of times before, good to see Aaron actually looking like he wants to be there and enjoying himself. Never seen Seether before and was impressed.

How good was Mudshovel at the end with Seether frontman (Shaun is it?) joining in?

Really pleased to hear you guys enjoyed it!
At the end of this tour it'll be the 12th time (in total) I've seen Seether (I'm not obsessed, honest :suspect:)!
I enjoyed Staind much more this time and Aaron and Shaun goofing around at the end was priceless!
I'm in the process of uploading some vids to YouTube but I'm off to the Brum & London gigs so I won't get another chance until Tuesday.

Cheese...it was great to meet you!!:D
PM me your myspace addy and you'll be able to see the pics we took too.
