Morning all

Yesterday evening I amazed myself, I managed to wire up and successfully install a stereo into my car. Nothing blew up, everything works and no vital electrics have been damaged in the process. You see, normaly I'm a bit of a duffer when it comes to stuff like this and manage to turn it into a doomsday device or something ....... I even phoned my dad to crow about it - he was equally amazed. I know it's a meagre victory but I was quite chuffed because of my usual poor track record in this field.

If you saw a shaven headed chap grinning like a cheshire cat with the Clash blaring out at full bore this morning - Then that was me!

Has anyone else done something recently that they were convinced was beyond their abilities? If so were you as pleased as I evidently am with my small but important achievement?

Woohoo good for you!!

It doesn't matter what the acheivement is, it's how it makes you feel after!

I tiled my bathroom, never even cut a tile before but I watched a guy tile our kitchen and it looked 'easy' !!

For a woman on her first attempt I thought I did a fine job!!

Take a look here (http://photobucket.com/albums/y144/shieshuk/?action=view&current=DSC00872.jpg)

I also did the other end of the bathroom too - a splash back effect behind washbasin etc

That's cool, well done both of you!!

Since moving a couple of weeks ago, I have so far managed to fit or replace - 6 wall lights, 6 ceiling lights, 2 sets of shelves on the walls (straight!) and move our washing machine and plumb it back in with NO problems!! :D So I know what the feeling's like!

That for me is highly unusual... especially since screwing into a central heating pipe in the bathroom of our last house...

Thanks all - gotta say that the guns of brixton sounded fantastic when I was coming through Attercliffe (I got some strange looks though as I was singing along with great gusto!). :D

Good going on your bathroom Shiesh - Top job. Goes to show we all have hidden talents :)

Hey thanks people....I really was very proud of the result too!!

Yes....LOL it is Cillit Bang in the shower cubicle and yes it is very good....but not 'as good' as the adverts make out!!

Off Topic I know...but that pink vanish stuff (one scoop in your wash etc) is very good but not 'as good' as the ads make out...I didn't squirt it on my boys bibs and all stains 'Vanished' but they did after a overnight soak in a bucket...
