Hi does anybody know if there are any shotokan karate clubs in the sheffield 5 area that take kids and don't charge a fortune for lessons ?

We run a shotokan club in Hillsborough, s6 area. Lessons are £2.50 per session and our association's annual licence is £15 / year.

We train Mondays 8-9.00 and Wednesdays 7 - 8.30.

We tend to take students who are 10+; how old are your lot?

Thanks for the info my daughter is 10 and has been practising shotokan karate for 3 years. She is getting fed up with the club she is at at the moment.

Do you enter comps ?

We don't really, to be honest, we used to a while ago but we haven't participated in any competitions for a while. There's no reason for this, just that none of the students have been particularily interested in competitions.

We are a medium-small sized club with about a 50:50 junior to adult split. You're more than welcome to come along and check the club out if you like, either on a Monday or a Wednesday.

The wednesday class tends to have a higher number of students as it has an earlier start time. We train at Wisewood Methodist church hall on a Wednesday. The address is: Ben Lane, Sheffield, S6 4SB.

Thanks alchemist, been gassing to some one at school and found out about one at southey school, mondays and wednesdays. Think we will try that one first its a bit closer to home.
