View Full Version : Come on Summer, hurry up!
Draggletail 13-06-2005, 12:54 Have just come back from walking the dog at the top of Bingham Park (Lunchtime)
I was wearing:
Waterproof/windproof jacket
Thinsulate thermal hat
Boots
And I am presently eating a hot bowl of tomato soup
Now I know It's only the 13th of June, and summertime doesn't start till the 21st, but come on summer, hurry up - the daylight hours will be getting shorter in about ten days!
Last week was wonderful though so we can't complain too much...it does peak and trough though....last week bikinis this week ski jackets...
Ssssh! I'm trying to time it right for putting the weed, feed and moss-killer down before a shower :suspect:
The year is running 2 months behind where it should be, the magnolia tree in our back garden has just finished flowering, in June !

Next door still have some daffs !!! Odd cos' my died ages ago..
Swan_Vesta 13-06-2005, 14:34 It wants to get itself sorted out PDQ, I just went out for a fag and it's brass monkeys out there.
This is June for pitys sake, I want sunshine, warmth and general summery things. Apart from the obligatory strange looking blokes wearing shorts and sandals, I can do without them - some people should not expose their legs under any circumstances.
Either way I want summer NOW or I'll stamp my feet and spit me dummy out! :hihi:

You missed it - it was last Tues,Weds,Thurs. That's it folks for 12 months.
But the woman in the veg shop ensured the entire queue that it will get better for the weekend ( though she is not known for her honesty - you have to check your change)

Anyone in the Cricket inn rd area would be advised to watch out for low flying dummies :D

Snap ! Had to get dressed up like an eskimo to walk the dog today and had tomato soup for lunch , - tomato and red pepper actually...yum ;)
At 11.45 today the temp up here was just 9ºC and felt a lot colder in the wind, more like February than June.
But according to that little bloke who does the Look North forecast it's going to be a hot weekend

A hot three or four weeks would be better, Greybeard :(
But then I'd probably be moaning 'cos it was too hot to work :D
Why does it seem warmer this evening than it did at lunchtime? :suspect:
