View Full Version : New Sheffield Pre-Club Bar Night
SPIRIT PROMO 11-11-2003, 20:46 From this week onwards twice a month Sheffield will be graced with a new funky night called "Spirit".
Starting on Friday 15th November 2003 and running every other Friday onwards "Spirit" dj's will be playing funky sexy house music in the newly refurbished intimate surroundings of lounge bar cafe, Glossop Street, Sheffield.
After recent successful bar nights in their home town of Nottingham "Spirit" have decided to spread their funky wings towards the funky people of Sheffield.
Entry is free and doors open from 7pm till 11.30.

Yeah they're the same thing really. I think it's us Brits who started with the 'funky' tag - to Americans it's just house or Chicago house.
yeah but 'funky house' is the more commercial end of it really isnt it

Yeah every now and then radio stations, tv etc. find a funky tune they like and cane it to death e.g. Lee Cabrera - Shake It got killed by Radio 1 this summer :( Shame really.

If you don't like it don't go - there's plenty of other clubs. House is popular at the moment so there's bound to be lots of house nights.

Used to be able to rely on Headcharge, Zogg and Shush for something different, but now Headcharge and Zogg have lost the one thing that made them stand out from every other night - The Arches!
