I wonder if anybody else would like to see the BBC Interludes all the way thru. The skateboarders and the street dancers, the Argentinian, or they look it to me, and the Asian dancers. The high rope dancers. We only get to see about 30 secs of each as a voice over promo or some such thing is taking place. Lets see them all the way thru!

Incidently, why on the one that I think is Argentinian is it raining? And why on the one where there are 9 guys tapdancing is one wearing shorts?

Watcha BB. I'm afraid the short filmed sequences you refer to are called 'idents', not interludes. Interludes were the longer items they used to show during technical breakdowns, such as the 'potters wheel' and 'London To Brighton at 500mph', or whatever it was. Bye!!

Yes, they would be more interesting than some of the programmes!

Ah Lord Snooty, does Aunt Maud still call you Marmaduke? I digress yet again. London to Brighton in 4 minutes, how we marvelled at that in my misspent youth. Playing snooker above Burtons the tailors in Luton, listening to rock and roll music, watching James Dean films, getting the cane at school, listening to Educating Archie. Oh happy days

So idents eh? I always thought, from my seven years of broadcasting with BBC idents actually had the station ident on them. In which case these they are not. They are 'fillers' but what is the technical name for them? Anybody know?

That'll teach me, I didn't open the threads above to see that the BBC call them idents, sorry everyone.

Why was I not able to delete this posting by the way?

Fair Comment, Bruce.

You may also notice a little red box in all of the clips with "BBC One" written in it. I think that this may qualify as "station identification".

p.s. you can only ask a Mod to delete a post on your behalf.

They have the BBC logo broadcast with them. In which case, since they are not trails for programmes or adverts, they are idents. And anyway, I am an identical twin, so I should know. What did you do for seven years at the BBC Bruce, while you were broadcasting?
