I know there are other posters who like their wine so I thought it could be useful to have a thread where we can keep each other in touch about decent wine being discounted by the supermarket chains.
So I'll kick off.............
Went to Waitrose yesterday and one of the wines in their tastings was the Beaujolais Villages "Cuvee des Vignerons" which has been my favourite red for some months (and been recommended by others),
Got to the shelves and..........sh*t, empty - tastings had worked too well. Having said that they were still selling it at £4.99 - the price it's been since Waitrose opened.
So imagine my delight when I saw the Louis Jadot "Combe aux Jacques" - 20% discount - £5.42 per bottle.
This wine is liquid velvet - or certainly about the nearest you'll get to it at that price.
Fill yer boots (while discount lasts)...........................
