I have 2 sets of 4GB(2x2gB) OCZ DDR3 Memory. Could anyone tell me which one is better based on their specs?


OCZ Fatal1ty Edition - 1333(PC3 10666),
Cas Latency-9,Timing=9-9-9-20@1.7v
Features- 1.8V EVP and EPP ready ( What do these mean?)

OCZ Special Ops Ed. - 1066(PC3 8500),
Cas Latency-7, Timing=7-7-7-24@1.6v
Features - 1.75V EVP Ready

Paid $100 for Fatal1ty Edition and $150 for Special Ops Edition. @ newegg.com

Though I ordered wrong mem. for mobo, turns out I didnt and both of these will work on an ASrock P43Twins1600, Right?

the Fatal1ty is the better option, and yes, it should work fine on that board.

The EVP and EPP are profiles, they tell the bios what settings to use, these are often slower than the max settings though, you computer will default to these settings firstly when you first put the ram in, and also if they experience a problem.

Reneber they are often slower than the guaranteed speed, and you can use memory at the advertised speed.

btw, I needed to turn on "memory remap" in the bios to detect all 4GB, right?

Does anyone know the best overclock settings for this mem on my mobo?

Doesnt my CPU need to be compatible with mem?
i think the FSB of CPU is 1066.

Any info on OC'ing the processor would be great to.
The stock cooler blows air into heatsink. Is that most efficient?

Also got a Galaxy 9600gt 1GB ddr3.
Does it run too hot @ 51c idle & 72c @ load? Any OC advice?
Ran GTA IV flawlessly at 75% highest settings for few hours.

I don't run with memory remap enabled... It causes instability... if you have a 64bit OS, this is not needed...

the mem and CPU FSB can be different... that doesn't matter... as for over clocking.. I wouldn't bother, not worth it really, other than to increse your 3dmark score... in practical use it makes no difference.
