Im sure weve both have had our fair share of crap un's through the years, most recent one for the Blade's would have to be Billy Sharp.

and laws would sign him tomorrow.

I doubt that, i wouldn't want someone who would rather go for the pound note's rather than a guarenteed game every week, which he knew he wasn't going to get at the lane.
There's other strikers out there cheaper than him who actually know where the goal is, Lita for 500 grand or Billy Sharp for 2 and wateva mill, mmmm.:)

Im glad he didn't come to Wednesday weve got our own Billy Sharp in Jeffer's.
this is going to be a long thread.
We have signed some absolute rubbish of the years, so there's no doubt about that.
In addition, the rubbish we signed were usually on big wages, i.e. Wim Jonk.

and De Bilde:loopy:
CorkerSWFC 11-01-2009, 15:02 and De Bilde:loopy:
Andy Sinton was another who was on massive wage's and he wasn't much cop either.

Most recent one would of been Hendrie Id say. Although thats because he is a prick and has barely been seen in the 1st team.
Atleast Billy has scored a few goals since he re joined us and alot more goals than Fanny Jeffers has scored for your lot. :)
Im glad he didn't come to Wednesday weve got our own Billy Sharp in Jeffer's.
No there is a big difference there. Billy Sharp is fit for the majority of the season, whereas Jeffers must be a relation of Donnelly and O'donnell maybe:hihi:
NERVY-OWL 11-01-2009, 18:00 i always thought ekoku did well for us, was never going to get loads of goals but he has got more than jeffers plus like corky said he scored those 2 goals to knock utd out of the league cup:thumbsup:
cant really think of any other than the ones that have been said, i would put the scottish lads as the worst though, well very near the bottom

alex3659 11-01-2009, 19:13 where's my post gone
don't know .
StocksyOwl 11-01-2009, 19:32 There is a big differance between bad players and bad signings.
Yonk,Jeffers,Sedloski,Di Bilde,Donnelly,O'Donnell were all good players,Yonk world class.Jeffers was good enough for Arsene Wenger to sign for multi millions. However they were bad signings.
Plenty of the others mentions were just bad players.
NERVY-OWL 11-01-2009, 19:34 fair point

Thats exactley what it say's in the thread heading, poor "WEDNESDAY" players we all know that once they leave they score a hatfull or go on to get international honours, Darko Kovacevic springs to mind when were talking about how they did before or after they left Wednesday.
Thingything 11-01-2009, 22:19 Worst ever signing
Andy Hinchcliffe

buggerd up with kovacevic didn't we,and his mate stefanovich, shouldve given kovacevic more time to settle in
CorkerSWFC 11-01-2009, 22:24 Worst ever signing
Andy Hinchcliffe
Without doubt in the top 5 how could i have missed him out, talk about Darren Anderton the sicknote, he was Mr disability allowance lol.

Yonk was world class but unfortunatly couldn't cope with the pace of the english game
CorkerSWFC 11-01-2009, 22:26 buggerd up with kovacevic didn't we,and his mate stefanovich, shouldve given kovacevic more time to settle in
He scored hatricks the lot for Juventus when he left us, i couldn't believe how well he really did there, it was nice to see old Gerald Sibon the other week, i can't beilive he's still playing.
Thingything 11-01-2009, 22:28 Without doubt in the top 5 how could i have missed him out, talk about Darren Anderton the sicknote, he was Mr disability allowance lol.
spent so much time on the treatment table he grew an extra pair of legs by the time he left
CorkerSWFC 11-01-2009, 22:29 Yonk was world class but unfortunatly couldn't cope with the pace of the english game
And he was about 34 when he came to us, im sure he only came cause he got back into the Dutch team after years in the wilderness, its Jonk m8 by the way lol, i know some Blade will pull you up as they do otherwise.
NERVY-OWL 11-01-2009, 22:29 i cant believe sibon hasnt ended up in as a bad buy, after his early performances he would of been a given but seemed to improve alot in the championship, still remember him putting it over from on the line as good as. who is he playing for now then?

Sibon was a championship player at best mate, blew hot and cold too much

was always YONK to us lot fella
CorkerSWFC 11-01-2009, 22:34 Sibon was a championship player at best mate, blew hot and cold too much
Sibon was really a bit part player anyway and didnt get as many starts as you think, he had to compete with some pretty equipped striker's at the time, he play's for Heerenveen now, he scored 43 goals for Wednesday in 150 game's not that bad really certainly not bad enough to end up on a worse players list anyway.
CorkerSWFC 11-01-2009, 22:35 was always YONK to us lot fella
It was YONK to us all but it was spelled JONK.
NERVY-OWL 11-01-2009, 22:36 was it the likes of di canio and carbone he competed with, or was he just after them? certainly more a championship player though but his goal tally isnt too bad really

agree wouldn't put him nowhere near the worst players list, when he was up for it he was a cracking player, just too inconsistent
CorkerSWFC 11-01-2009, 22:51 was it the likes of di canio and carbone he competed with, or was he just after them? certainly more a championship player though but his goal tally isnt too bad really
At first it was Carbone and Booth he was competing with, and then came along Paulo Di Canio
is carbone still playing ?
CorkerSWFC 12-01-2009, 00:01 is carbone still playing ?
