Does anyone know how to get outdoor security lights which work off an infrared sensor to only come on when activated.

I know its some kind of combination you press on the switch inside the house, anyone with suggestions woul dbe most helpful?

Mine's stopped reacting, but I think that's my fault for putting a low energy bulb in - knackers their logic :(

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but has yours come on and stopped on, and you want it to go back to just using the sensor on the front?

For ours, if you switch them off and then back on quickly (a brief powercut will do it) then they stay on permanently. To get them back to the sensor, I *think* you have to put them off for five or ten minutes, and then put them on again. They should go back to using the sensor again then.

If not, see if you can find the booklet that came with them, as that will tell you exactly how to do it.

Them lights are the biggest neighbourhood nuisance, just walk a pavement (so outside a property) and lights go on, why ?
Keep your high powered blinding hallogen beams to yourselves thank you !

I had a neighboor take his off 2 years ago as HIS light went on when I was walking in MY back yard.

All it takes it point the detector more towards the ground and decrease sensitivity !

Err, mine's got a fixed sensor and it's a 60w carriage lantern

I once asked 3 neighbours with 500w floods to adjust their beams when they all shone into my back bedroom all at once. They were all very apologetic :) (and I wasn't making a fuss, I was asking politely)
