I'm starting a catering business shortly and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction regarding food wholesalers around sheffield.

Many thanks.

the ones i've used before are the larger "chain" types - Makro, Costco, Booker.

depending on how high you want to be on the supply foodchain, there's also 3663 and Brakes that can supply you single-serve and other ready product.

I used to part own a restaurant. The best thing to do is sit down work out what you are going to use and shop around get people to quote we used a vegetable supplier in castle market for veg and fruit called all seasons lad called lee. various butchers and suppliers one of them hadfield catering butchers near woodburn road. depending on quantities you can go straight to the fruit and veg market at parkway just behind costco but you have to buy full bags or boxes but its cheap. we used bookers cash and carry and had no problems nearly always had everything in and had a varied range of things on the shelf. If you need any further contacts or information websites flyers etc let me know? and building or landscaping work aswell lol!

I have a small catering business and use various suppliers as they can have offers on at different times. I also look around at wholesalers such as Costco and Makro and for such things as disposables (i.e trays, bags etc) I use B & P wholesalers on the Parkway markets. I have the number of a meat supplier who will also deliver to you even if your orders are only small. PM me if you require his number.

Good luck

Costco is near Makro. When you come off the Parkway, head for the wholesale market and you'll see costco on the right. You can visit to have a look around before joining (costs £20). I think it's great, the food is good quality, the prices are good, and the staff are very helpful.
