SF is always a great read, and fills in the time spent at work for sure, but there seems to be one thing missing...

... the ability to upload and display photos in your post!

With the popularity of camera phones, wouldn't it be interesting to have a section of the forum dedicated to photos uploaded by users? After all, a photo is supposed to say a thousand words!

Obviously, there would need to be restrictions and possibly vetting of the contributions but surely that wouldn't be a hard job for the mods.

Don't know about others, but I always like to see photos of different parts of Sheffield ... thought the upload of interesting photos and the resulting discussion might add another dimension to an already excellent forum!

Thoughts ?

Excellent idea  More work for the mods though and an increase in storage and bandwidth, but it would be cool.

Why don't you do what the rest of us do? Hyperlink your photobox or photobucket account.

If you are desperate to show us something you could always post a link and upload it onto an 'album' site like photobucket!!

:)

I agree though many forum sites have this but It generally is the larger ones relating to sport of TV!

Yup, there is always that way of doing things but IMO that's more of a workaround and it's neater to display the pics in the thread.

I can see arguments both for and against, and I guess the old saying could be brought into play "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I don't think it would take too much work and assuming that the majority of contributors would be sensible, it could work quite well.

As previously mentioned, restrictions would be needed but a size limit on the image would go a long way to resolving any bandwidth issues.

I have no burning desire to reveal anything Shiesh (ooooerrr) - was just one of my many musings of a Sunday evening really, but something I would like to see all the same!

Cheers for your comments ...

Considering that Geoff runs this forum privately, I think you'll struggle to convince him to add that feature - it has been 'discussed' already ;)

I prefer it without. Sheffield forum has got a mostly clean look to it that I like.
