according to the 11 o'clock news on radio Sheffield, there was a buckling of the wall on the new macdonalds hotel, being constructed beside the winter garden.
it's caused some damage to the winter garden, and part of the garden has had to be closed off.
(THAT's gonna cause some probs for the g8-ers next week, isn't it? lol)

perhaps they'd better move their little meet & greet (or grip n' grin as I like to call them!) into the 'peace' gardens instead...!!??

Noticed this morning there is some girder work now installed linking the side of the Winter Gardens and the new hotel - is there going to be some kind of covered precinct between the two ?
It's three weeks since I was last in town and the roadworks on Norfolk street have made virtually no progress at all - it's beginning to look like a 'fill-in' job for street force.

I've seen a 'fly-by' video of the new buildings, which shows that there will be a direct walk-through link between the new hotel and the Winter Gardens.
