Well, Sheffield's temperature is decided by several different weather stations, so it becomes a bit of a post code lottery as to who would get a cold weather payment (hope you didn't mind me changing the title). In fact, this was mentioned on the winter fuel payment argu ...... thread(!).

As far as I know, no areas of Sheffield are eligible for the cold weather payment at the moment.

yes, but generally cos sheffields higher...

it works the other way...

and only part of sheffield, cos part is covered by another weather station...

I would have thought the size of Sheffield it would have its own weather station

There are three stations for Sheffield post codes (I thought there were more actually), but the problem with Sheffield having its own, single, weather station is its topography.

The hills everywhere change the temperatures and weather all over the city, which is why it doesn't work too well for Sheffield.

If you qualify for it they should pay it straight in, I find it takes upto 2 weeks though

If you mean £60, £60 is not a cold weather payment

Hi All

Just been on there website as we havn`t received a cold weather payment yet (we are both pensioners) and guess what we are not entitled to it even though we receive old age pension, reason we don't get any income support or assistance:(:(:(
