Last night I had aphone call from my friend who had put me in touch with the Hollows as she is her friend, anyway the dogs had gone home, but dont get too excited.
Turns out the little black one was 18 and he was being looked after by somebody for their friend and they were so glad to get HIM back, but he was nothing to do with the saint bernard, lived near it and just happened to bump in to each other the saint bernard is abitch so she probably smelled nice, any how he's back home

The Saint Bernard who I have to say was very smelly and dirty and wasn't cared for at all as well as very hungry, has now gone missing again, apparantly the people who have her are looking after her for their mother, and keep her in the garden, they have gone shopping and left her and she's wandered off again, people like this really annoy me, so my friend has been out for two hours trying to see her and I have just drove round but we cant see her, so she's out there somewhere in the dark not knowing where she is
So if anybody in this area does see her the lady at The Hollows will have her if you ring her she will come and pick her up, then decide what the best thing will be, as these people obviously are not taking care of her

I just hope if ever any of mine ever got out which is highly unlikely, but hope they would find some one like us, but i wouldn't be that lucky

Well done MP for putting yourself out for the dogs. I hope you find the St Bernard soon.... Dot at Hollows will tear a strip of them, if the owners show up, she doesnt mince her words.:o:hihi:

We had a similar nightmare a couple of weeks ago with a stray running on the road in the dark. Rotherham DW told us to take to Scrooby RD and gave us a code, apparantly the lights stay on for a few minuites and you have to run and put the dog in a kennel and get out before the lights go out....yeah right I dont think so.:loopy:

We made alternative arrangements for the dog and she was reunited with her owner the next day.

erm, what happens to the dog after the lights go out Gemima?

is this place unstaffed at that time?

MP - will you be trying to contact the owners if you find the St Bernard again?
I'd be tempted to take the dog to the pound if it was the owners letting her wander, but if it's somebody looking after the dog its seven days could expire before her owners get back to reclaim her

oooooo - the system drives me mad :(

Strix I do not know what happens when the lights go out, no doubt the dog is terrified and in a strange place, we didnt know if we had to put a bed/water in there?. There is no way we were prepared to take a dog to such a place. We were assured that someone from Mount Pleasant kennels would be coming to pick the dog up at some point and take it there, as Scrooby Rd is a temp drop off, but we didnt know the timescale and were not prepared to take the chance.

I don't like the sound of that at all Gemima, but it sounds preferable to the 'sytem' in Sheffield, where basically you're advised by the police to let the dog go again if it's out of hours, even though it would be illegal to do so
