Does anyone know how I could find out who the MP for the Stannington area is?
I would like to write to or email him/her about the ridiculousness of the loud firework "bombs" which have gone off every night till Midnight and beyond for the past month in the local area.
Any helpful response would be appreciated.
I believe it's Helen Jackson MP
Hmm, thought it would possibly her, I know she handles the Hillsborough ward.

Helen Jackson is the MP for the Hillsborough constituency of which Stannington is a part. Try http://www.upmystreet.com and typing in your postcode, and local information, including MPs, is brought up for your postcode.
Incidentally, if you follow the 'more information' link beside the MP information, you can then follow a link to fax your MP. You simply fill in an online form and it faxes it to your MP.
Thanks for the helpful responses.
As a result I have faxed Mrs Jackson a message regarding the unsociably noisy firework "bombs" which have been going off late at night in our area for the past month.
These fireworks are a menace, did anyone see in the Star on Friday night I think it was, about the pub on the Parkhill that was damaged by idiots setting off firework "bombs"?!
Sorry if I appear to be ranting, I've just got a real bee in my bonnet about this issue as it has been annoying me for weeks and weeks now and is beyond a joke.
They have been a nuisance. They do appear to be quietening down though now that Bonfire Night is over. I think since this is the last weekend near Bonfire Night, they will die down until New Years Eve now.

I'd be interested in the reply you get from Ms Jackson. These 'airbombs' are supposedly banned from sale to the public under the manufacurer's voluntary code of practice and will be illegal under the forthcoming legislation.
Haven't heard any this evening, but I did hear from a friend in Worral yesterday that complaints had been made to the police who were actively trying to locate the perpetrators.

We've heard them all day from about lunch time here, granted it wasn't as bad as last night but it's still not right to be spoiling the peace and quiet and sod all on telly of a Sunday afternoon with noisy fireworks IMO.
