I ve just got wow, installed it then waited four hours to download a patch after which it said I needed another patch at 3.3gigs which said 11 hours to download. Is this right or am I doing something wrong? any ideas?

sounds about right, you have to download and install lich king stuff even if you don't have the game, cause some of the quests cross, and the Skills and items need to be visible to all.
