Another thread has made me think of this...
There are a couple of pet superstores in Sheffield who regularly give advice and write their own information leaflets on pet care for certain animals.
PLEASE seek advice from a reputable breeder or rescue organisation rather than asking these places. They are not experts - they employ lots of people who don't necessarily know the answers and aren't always happy to say they don't.
For example - selling rabbit hutches miles too small for the rabbit, keeping rabbits and guinea pigs together, and producing leaflets with incorrect information.
For example, I recently picked up a rat care leaflet from one of their stores which stated that rats were ok to be kept in a gerbilarium style enclosure (although barred cages are preferable). The thought of keeping a rat in a gerbilarium is absurd and can cause huge problems with such an animal which needs to climb.
If you are after advice for a particular animal, please approach a rescue organisation, breeder or other pet service provider. Failing that, seek advice on this forum and you'll get plenty of help!
Please note, this isn't aimed at anyone in particular despite another thread having reminding me to write it.
