i am putting this plea out on behalf of the dogs at the doggy pound...please if you have anything spare at all, blanket,towels etc. the dogs would be very grateful

Can anyone find any more blankets or sheet or jumpers - bedding or sleeping bags?

Over the few days holiday - if they could call into local charity shops to find any?

It doesn't take long stood outside in these -3 degrees to know what it must be like for the dogs in kennels without a warm blanket.

do any of you know where we could find a rag and bone type company where we could buy some blankets/ sleeping bags from?

grababargain had four duvets available, but don't think there's been a reply to my enquiry as to whether they're feather ones

i have had a few pm's askin where the pound actually is...so with a bit of luck

I have sorted a whole load of sheets/blankets/towels to take down, will try get them down there tomorrow!

I took 2 black bags full today, left them outside, is that ok?

As well as the igloo I just posted about, which would probably get trashed quite quickly in a kennel, I also have a blue fleece blanket, 2 large cotton sheets, one thicker than the other (but with paint on them) and 1/2 bag of Baker's dog food.

does anybody have a poster done i could maybe pop one up at work and maybe in stannington village boards i am happy to be a go between but i dont drive so if people at work do have stuff i could get them to bring it if someone else could collect?

i will be offline soon and not sure when i will be able to get back on line if anybody can collect the duvet i have from liberty place in stannington i will PM my mobile number to Magsie now and im happy for it to be passed on. i also have a plastic bed that has been nibbled around the edges would this be any use?

We are going to the pound tom and are in S13 if anyone has anything for me to collect let me know and we can go on our way so about 1ish.

Also i am leaflet dropping my neighbours on my street to appeal for bedding for the pound and i hope they will have a few things we can take. Just an idea for trying to find stuff.

Lyndyx - your's must be the two bags I saw when I went in to do pics today, so yep, leaving them outside works. If possible, leave a message on one of the phonelines so somebody knows to come out and get it ;)

I took down a bundle of fleece tops and sweatshirts I'd cut all the buttons, eyelets, zips and cords off. As a rule they don't usually want clothing as it's full of buttons and things dogs can choke on, but I was alarmed at how empty their bedding cupboard currently is!

We're currently making enquiries with textile recyclers, but wheels turn slowly, so any suitable textiles that people can drop off in the next week would be greatly appreciated

We really could do with some fixed collection points too

Rubydazzler owns the shop called unit1 on Woodseats and has previously volunteered to be a drop off point. I think Lotti's shop has been offered too
