Hi,

I'm living in Velocity village on a three month contract and just wondering if anyone knows what the minimum contract is for Ask4 broadband?

It's 1 month, if you want to cancel then just tell Support at least 7 days prior to your next billing date otherwise you'll be billed for the next month in advance. If you ring Support on 0845 123 8710 they'll give you a free 7 day trial voucher code if you haven't already used one :)

Thanks for your reply fnky!

I take it you have experience of using Ask4?

Can you really just plug into the CAT5 port and get going? Or do you need to contact them first??

I work for ask4 and also have an ask4 connection at home so yes I have a fair bit of experience with them :)

Signup is easy, as you say just plug in to the port in your apartment and open your web browser, all being well when you try going to a web page you'll be redirected to the Signup Wizard. Enter your details, reboot when asked and you'll be away. Any problems give Support a call and they should be able to resolve it. If you want the 7 day trial you'll need to call and ask for it prior to signing up.

Is it possible to have ask4 anywhere else? I mean I know you have lines installed elsewhere but would I be able to have it anywhere?

I currently live in Norfolk Park Village and have an ask4 connection and find that not having to pay line rental on it really useful cos I do not want to use a phone cos I have my mobile.

Due to the way the service is supplied it's only available in specific developments I'm afraid, you can see what developments have the ask4 service at:

http://www.ask4.com/residential/availability
http://www.ask4.com/students/student_availability

Gothic_chav, as far as I'm aware ASK4 only provide contracts to the residential buildings listed on their website.

If you don't want to pay line rental just use a broadband provider (eg. Virgin) as opposed to a ADSL provider (eg. BT).
