Well, I'm fed up with my tummy, and would really want to give it a real makeover by the end of 2009 by turning it into a eight pack ab. What am I expecting out of posting this here.
1. Is there a particular gym that I need to be looking at, if i'm thinking of 8 pack.
2. If I'm giving myself 12 months time to get the 8 pack, how much time should be exercising in a day/week. Given that I'm 60kgs with a 32 inch waistline 5ft7in tall.
3. Is there anyone here who has (or is in the process ) worked through to get that 8 pack, if yes, would you want to share your experiences here.
Diet, Train, Diet, Train, Diet
You can train all year and not get it sorted if you don't eat correctly. And you won't get anywhere til you burn off the fat that already exists on your tum ...so all the sit ups in the world won't show you any gain til that fat has reduced...so i'd say just nail your cardio for a couple of months to start.
But what do I know....i'm such a picky eater that any training i've done never got the results it should of....damn chocolate!
oh...and the gym shouldnt matter, they all have the basics for what you will need...maybe worth finding someone to give you a training routine though...i'd expect 3 times a week.
My mate is totally ripped...but he follows a VERY strict routine of weights and eating protein heavy meals every 4 hrs, powders, pills, suppliments.....its pretty damn expensive to be honest.
I think you need to re check your measurements mate.
I'm 5,7 68 kg and only have a 28 inch waist. Although i do have abs.
There's a few things that need to be considered. Age, comitment and all importantly genetics.
So providing you're not "over the hill" ;) and are willing to put the effort in you should be able to get them in a year.
Things to do though :-
1. Don't think sit ups and crunches are the be all and end all in getting abs. Although they are important to sculpt they won't bring them out that easily.
2. Go for stabilising exercises (like squats). You'll get a work out in your legs too but also use your core to keep the motion going.
3. Try to use kettlebells if you can. Go on youtube or somewhere first though to get proper technique.
4. I wouldn't train them evryday as you'll over train them and thats not good. 3-4 times per week.
5. Diet is real important. If you're 5'7 and 60kg you'll already be lean so just try not to eat to much fatty stuff and get a good amount of protein and carbs.
Alternatively. Buy a few mens health/mens fitness mags and try some of their work outs. I guarentee they'll all be adverising how to get rid of that christmas weight and get abs!!
An 8pk really is difficult with the right genes. Unfortunately th e only way to find out is train so get to the gym!!!

Too true....same way some people can eat rubbish all day and stay slim, sometimes all the gym work in the world may only get you results your mate can get in 1 month..
hmph!
