"The injuries are not thought to be life threatening." That sounds pretty bad.

It wasn't the DJ - and Gerrard didn't attack him.

I don't think Gerrard's being stitched up, I just think because he's involved the story is getting blown out of all proportion. Fights happen every night in clubs, some people get arrested, but most get a warning. Gerrard will get a warning simply for being involved, nothing more.

I'm shocked by Liverpool Football Club's reaction to Gerrard's assault. Any other organisation who found out their star employee was a violent thug would have suspended him until the trial and then fired him if found guilty. Liverpool instead have said they'll offer him all the support he needs, as if he's the victim!

Says it all about the lack of morality in Liverpool. The club's sticking two fingers up at the many young kids who look up to Gerrard as a role model.

What a stupid comment. Probably why you don't run a massive establishment.

Gerrard is worth around £30m + to Liverpool in transfer fee's alone, not to mention their star player who is crucial to them winning trophies in the future!

Liverpool are not just about to SACK a player that is worth that much money, period!

And anyway.... how can you just come out and slander the morals of a club when you don't even know the facts regarding what the player actually did?

Talking about morals of a club and their players being role models; seems you have forgot that Manchester Utd still have a defender playing for them that was banned for avoiding a drugs test! They also have a number of youths still within their ranks that were accused of rape! Oh and, remember Eric Cantona (speaking of thugs)? Was he sacked?

Still, if you say ONLY Liverpool would protect it's player, then it must be right hey?

Vidster's right, you are obsessed with Man U!

For the record I don't even support a Premiership club - I'm a Wednesday fan. Unlike you I actually go to my club's games rather than just buy a replica shirt and watch them on Sky in my local!

But to get back to the point, I don't think you understand how serious the consequences of Gerrard's assault are - according to this article it could land him with a 5 year prison sentence.

Will you still be saying your club should stand by him if he gets sent down till 2014?

I honestly cannot see Gerrard being sent down for this. I mean how many scrapes did Joey Barton get involved in before he finally got sent down

The story goes that Gerrard had the initial arguement with the DJ but it was two others that actually caused the damage to the guy, not Gerrard. The facts will all come out during the upcoming trial so we will know alot more then, but if it is proven that Gerrard was the man who knocked the DJ's tooth out and caused the man to require six stitches, then you won't find me defending him! He will have to take the punishment that fits the crime. I don't think you would see Liverpool defending him either...... if Gerrard is proved guilty of the assualt?

Oh and BTW... I do go to watch Liverpool play mate, although I must admit that a pint down the boozer whilst watching them is also a very enjoyable pastime :D

Mate believe me, if Gerrard is proved to be the man who inflicted injuries such as a broken tooth and six stitches, he will be sent to prison! If however the story goes that he didn't cause the injuries but was just involved in the whole affair, he will only get his legs slapped.
